Yamaha brings hands-on console workshops to the AES Show Nashville

— Six sessions in Ryman Studio 10/11 explore DM5 digital mixing consoles, simplified audio control, loudspeaker dispersion and audio processing —

New York, NY, October 29, 2026 — Yamaha will present six workshops at the AES Show, giving attendees opportunities to get hands-on with its new DM5 Series digital mixing consoles and explore practical approaches to live sound production. Taking place Saturday and Sunday in Ryman Studio 10/11, the sessions combine technical instruction with demonstrations focused on real-world applications.

The program features three “Discover DM5!” sessions, during which Yamaha engineers will examine the platform’s signal architecture, workflow design, processing capabilities and integration options. Practical demonstrations will highlight efficient console operation in live production environments.

Additional workshops will address simplifying complex audio-control systems, applying asymmetrical loudspeaker dispersion and understanding how audio processors shape a mix.

“Understanding the tools is only the beginning; knowing how to apply them is what makes a difference in a mix,” said Chip Allen, Field Marketing Engineer III – Yamaha Pro Audio. “These workshops give attendees a chance to hear the results, explore the workflow and build skills they can take into their next production.” All six workshops will take place in Ryman Studio 10/11 at  AES Show Nashville. The schedule is as follows:

Saturday
11:00 a.m. — Discover DM5!
Get hands-on with Yamaha’s new DM5 Series digital mixing consoles and explore signal architecture, workflow, processing and integration for live production.
1:00 p.m. — Simplifying Audio Control
Learn practical approaches to managing complex audio-control environments without sacrificing capability. Topics include scalable system architecture, intuitive interfaces, remote and automated control, operator training, and reliable, repeatable results across users and events.
3:00 p.m. — Discover DM5!
A second opportunity to explore the DM5 Series with Yamaha engineers through hands-on learning and practical demonstrations.

Sunday
11:00 a.m. — Discover DM5!
Explore the DM5 Series platform, with demonstrations focused on efficient operation in live production environments.
1:00 p.m. — Asymmetrical Loudspeaker Dispersion: Design and Application
Examine how coverage geometry, directivity, loudspeaker placement and audience-area requirements influence intelligibility, consistency and deployment efficiency in live sound reinforcement.
3:00 p.m. — Audio Plugins and Processors: What Do They Really Do?
Move beyond presets with focused demonstrations of equalization, dynamics, delay, reverberation and other essential processing tools on Yamaha consoles. Hear how parameter choices affect intelligibility, headroom, tonal balance and mix translation.
