WAVES PROCESSING ALGORITHMS USEDFOR SM PRO AUDIO’S NEW IN-EAR WIRELESS MONITORS

SM Pro Audio’s MX1T and MX1R Utilize Waves MX5010 Custom DSP Semiconductor

KNOXVILLE, TN, April 6, 2011 — The CE Division of Waves, the industry leader in professional audio digital signal processing technologies and recent recipient of a 2011 Technical GRAMMY® Award, is pleased to announce that its semiconductor technology is being employed in SM Pro Audios’s MX1T/MX1R in-ear stereo wireless monitoring system. The system utilizes the advanced features of the Waves MX5010 semiconductor, bringing outstanding audio control to the wireless monitoring system. With the ability to manipulate all parameters both from the device’s front panel or using a connected PC, as well as being able to save settings to USB flash drives, the MX1T and MX1R set new benchmarks for this product category.

The Waves MX5010 semiconductor integrates a high-performance 24-bit DSP core with pre-programmed MaxxAudio algorithms for a powerful and cost-effective sound enhancement solution. The benefits of utilizing the MX5010 are numerous. Providing 24-bit processing at up to 48kHz, the MX5010 DSP delivers pristine audio quality. The MX5010’s proprietary technologies provide wide-ranging sound enhancements: MaxxTreble, MaxxEQ and MaxxBass let  users sculpt output frequency response with pinpoint precision, and MaxxVolume adds presence, making every song and every arrangement more “upfront” and powerful.

“The CE Division of Waves is pleased to bring our award-winning technologies to the SM Pro Audio in-ear monitors. Coming, as we do, from a pro audio background ourselves, this project really represents coming full circle for us. We look forward to further collaborations with SM Pro Audio in the future,” stated Tomer Elbaz, General Manager of Waves Audio Semiconductor and Licensing Division.

“The MX1T paired with the MX1R give in-ear monitoring, for the first time, the power to sound as good as it can, without using any external processing. The ability to save the sound you like, for your own ears, and take it wherever you go is a real revolution in monitoring,” says Danny Olesh, CEO, SM Pro Audio.

The MX1T/MX1R in-ear monitoring solution can be seen at  Musikmesse Frankfurt at the SM Pro Audio booth, Halle 5.1, Stand B63, from April 6 through April 9, 2011.
