FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Forensic Audio Expert Phil Manchester Continues to Rely on Tools from
Waves Audio for High-Profile Consulting Work

— Working with Stroz Friedberg, LLC, Manchester uses Waves Audio plugins to provide
analysis and intelligence for high-profile case —

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, November 22, 2013 Waves Audio Forensic Audio Expert Phil Manchester is no stranger to highly sensitive audio investigations, as illustrated by his considerable experience within counterterrorism, national security and serious criminal investigation.

Recently, Manchester’s company Aperio Audio received an approach of a different kind than what they had become accustomed to, he explains. “Back in the early part of 2011, I was formally approached by Stroz Friedberg, LLC, a USA-based team of global leaders in investigation, intelligence and risk management.” Founded by the former head of the FBI’s Cybercrime Department, Stroz Friedberg is a collection of the brightest minds in the fields of digital forensics, investigations, forensic accounting, incident response, security, compliance, data discovery, intelligence and due diligence. They specialize in handling cybersecurity incidents across the globe, operating from offices in New York, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

These cybersecurity experts explained to Manchester that they had been searching for some considerable time to find a highly trained and experienced audio expert with the correct security credentials and an appropriate background in covert and sensitive intelligence – crucially, an expert whose passion would deliver results at the highest levels of forensic investigation. Despite having offices and contacts around the world in every sector of digital forensics, Stroz Friedberg’s search had proved futile. Their search continued and led them to the U.K. and specifically to Waves’ forensics expert Phil Manchester. Officials from Stroz Friedberg detailed their exact requirements: to work on the largest multi-thread audio investigation in history, with evidence and intelligence spanning in excess of twenty years, involving potentially illegal voice recordings for a high-profile media organization and their subsequent review as part of an employment tribunal.

Manchester was identified by Stroz Friedberg as the only expert in the world that could be trusted to conduct the task, and he went on to provide independent consultancy to the investigation for nearly two years, reliant upon his craft and that of his trusted signal processing tools from Waves.

Some of the tools utilized for this investigation can be found within the Phil Manchester / Waves Audio Forensics Package, which Manchester personally worked on with Waves. This bundle contains nine audio plugins chosen especially for their precision in covert audio investigation: W43 Noise Reduction Plugin, X-Noise, X-Crackle, X-Hum, X-Click, C1 Compressor/Expander, Q10 Paragraphic Equalizer, PAZ Frequency Analyzer and L1 Ultramaximizer.

Manchester explains that one day he may be in a position to publicly comment on exactly how Waves tools provided him with the arsenal to deliver results in this complicated investigation and others, but without further elaboration possible, he notes that Waves processing technologies are without a doubt providing him with the finest tools available to allow him to continue as a world-leading expert.

Phil Manchester / Waves Audio Forensics Package is available with a U.S. MSRP of $700.
