119th AES CONVENTION, NEW YORK, NY, October 7, 2005
— Sound.org, the independent publishing company created by the
founders of Waves, the world's leading supplier of professional audio
software plug-ins, has announced the release of the third edition of
its popular guide to plug-in use, Production – Mixing –
Mastering with Waves, by producer and composer Anthony Egizii.
The original edition of Production – Mixing –
Mastering with Waves, released in 2004, was the first in Sound.org’s
OpenMix™ book series, each of which includes CDs containing the
complete multi-track session files in Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Nuendo
and Sonar recording formats, as well as demonstration versions of Waves
plug-ins. OpenMix is a hands-on approach that allows readers to follow
instructional text while working on the actual mix created by the author,
with complete freedom to remix or alter any aspect of the recordings.
Like earlier editions of Production – Mixing –
Mastering with Waves, this edition helps readers master the tools that
shape the sound of hit songs in five contemporary music styles: R&B,
Rock, Country, Alternative and Urban. In addition, a new chapter and
CD have been added covering a Lounge remix.
Readers are able to experiment with the six professionally
mixed tracks using Waves proprietary plug-ins and browse the settings
applied to each plug-in, instrument and vocal used in the songs. Among
the plug-ins covered are equalizers, compressors, reverbs, delays, choruses
and creative effects.
Owners of earlier editions of the book who registered
their copy at www.waves.com can receive
the new chapter and CD free of charge. Details are available at www.sound.org.
