FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MARK LEVINSON SHIPS Nº320S PREAMPLIFIER,
Nº390S CD PROCESSOR, Nº431 AND Nº432 POWER AMPLIFIERS

— Company continues ongoing expansion of high-end audio component line
with delivery of four new products to market —

CEDIA EXPO, INDIANAPOLIS, IN, September 10, 2004 — Having recently completed an extensive review of production, Mark Levinson announces it is now shipping the Nº320S Preamplifier and Nº390S CD Processor, along with the Nº431 and Nº432 Power Amplifiers. The announcement was made today by Wayne Morris, President of the Harman Specialty Group, and further emphasizes Harman International’s ongoing commitment to the Mark Levinson line of high-end audio components.

Building on the strength of Mark Levinson’s legacy of superior sound quality and unrivaled performance, the Nº320S Preamplifier is a direct descendant of the critically acclaimed Nº32 Reference Preamplifier. The Nº320S features audio circuits, controls, architecture and an optional phono module based on the Nº32. In fact, some audio circuits, such as the proprietary discrete volume attenuators, are identical to those found in the Nº32. Although it has a single-chassis design, the Nº320S achieves similar separation of audio circuit, control and power supply sections as the dual-chassis Nº32, resulting in a quiet, shielded environment essential for superior sound quality. The Nº320S also features 7 configurable inputs, separate main and record outputs, 3 balanced (XLR) inputs, 4 single-ended (RCA) inputs, complete surround sound processor integration and many other features.

The Nº390S Compact Disc Processor is a fully balanced CD source that automatically converts the source material to 24-bit, at either a 352.8 or 384 kHz sampling rate. It features a complete redesign of the legendary Mark Levinson Nº39’s DAC/analog output module. Borrowing heavily from the design of the Nº32 Reference Preamplifier and Audio Processor portion of the Nº40 Media Console, the Nº390S also incorporates Mark Levinson’s latest advances in D-to-A converter design, output buffer and volume control technologies, all implemented on a four-layer Arlon® 25N circuit board. The Nº390S takes the Nº39 to an entirely new level of performance and provides an upgrade path for Nº39 owners.

The Nº431 and Nº432 Dual Monaural power amplifiers represent significant advancements when compared to their predecessors. Part of the new Mark Levinson 400 series, these two models are better sounding, more powerful, physically smaller, rack mountable and represent the best value to date in Mark Levinson’s line of power amplifiers. Like all 400 series multi-mono power amplifiers, the Nº431 and Nº432 double the rated 8 ohm power at 4 ohms. Incorporating a compact chassis with independent power supplies for each channel, the Nº431 and Nº432 are entirely convection cooled, featuring individual heat sinks for each channel to maintain a safe operating temperature while delivering continuous output power. In addition, a balanced voltage-gain circuit allows the Nº431 and Nº432 amplifiers to generate more precise signals with lower noise. The balanced circuit includes ultra-high performance parts that enable this advanced design to reach its full potential. The Nº431 Dual Monaural power amplifier is rated at 200 watts/channel continuous rms power @ 8?, 400 watts/channel continuous rms power @ 4?. The Nº432 Dual Monaural power amplifier is rated at 400 watts/channel continuous rms power @ 8?, 800 watts/channel continuous rms power @ 4?.

The Nº320S Preamplifier, Nº390S CD Processor, and Nº431 and Nº432 Power Amplifiers are currently available from authorized Mark Levinson dealers.
