WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, January 5, 2009 — Guitar Center (GC), the world’s largest musical instrument and professional audio retailer, announces the appointment of Mike Prager to the position of Buyer, Recording. The announcement was made by Bill Wrightson, GC Vice President, HiTech Merchandise and reflects Guitar Center’s continuing commitment to company growth and the development of key vendor relationships within the recording market sector. In his new position, Prager will be responsible for purchasing all recording products items for the entire GC chain.

Prior to his new position, Prager served as GC’s Assistant Buyer, Recording for nearly two years, following an extensive career in the music technology field. A 15-year veteran of the industry, Mike has worked for such companies as Cakewalk, Steinberg, Disney Interactive Studios, Spectrasonics, Q Up Arts, Sony Classical, the Columbia College Hollywood and Keyboard Magazine. He has worked on various ArtistPro instructional DVDs and is the author of several books and CD-ROMs from Thomson Course Technology, including Reason 4 Power!, Reason CSi Starter, Reason CSi Master, Mac Home Recording Power!, and Sampling and Soft Synth Power!.
