THE NEW ENGLAND SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS (NESCOM) VIEWS
GC PRO AS “A GREAT PARTNER FOR EDUCATION”
— School purchases SSL AWS 900+ analogue workstation system
from GC Pro and finds the sales experience is as good as the sound —
AES SHOW, NEW YORK, OCTOBER 5, 2007 – GC Pro, the outside
sales division of Guitar Center that focuses on the needs of professional
users, is pleased to announce that the New England School of Communications
(NESCOM) has purchased an SSL® AWS 900+ analogue workstation system
from the GC Pro location in Boston. The console was installed at one
of NESCOM’s audio studios that are the core of the 30-year-old
institution’s audio engineering education program, which focuses
on Digidesign’s widely used Pro Tools® multitrack recording
platform. NESCOM is located on the Husson College Campus in Bangor,
Maine. The school has 400 students and offers Associate and Bachelor
Degrees of Science in Communications with areas of concentration in
Audio Engineering, Digital Media, Broadcasting and Video Production.
Dave MacLaughlin, Executive Director of the Audio Engineering
program at NESCOM and the person who launched the audio program there
15 years ago, says the SSL AWS 900+ will be used in conjunction with
a Pro Tools HD system and will help enhance the program even further.
But, as good as the console is, MacLaughlin feels the service he received
from Account Manager PK Pandey and the GC Pro sales organization was
second to none. “It was a fabulous experience,” he says.
“The folks from GC Pro came up to the school to make sure the
console had arrived safely and was operating as it was supposed to.
We wanted an SSL because it’s a standard of the industry, one
which our students need to train on. But we got more than that, we also
now have a relationship with a great partner for education. We built
an entire curriculum around this console and we know that GC Pro will
be there for us to support it. That’s critically important in
education. This was our first experience with GC Pro as a supplier,
and it was a great one.”
