BOSE® LAUNCHES NEW FREESPACE® AMPLIFIERS FOR SINGLE-ZONE AND EXPANDABLE APPLICATIONS

Greater Flexibility and Ease-of-Use for Premium Sound Solutions

The Mountain, Framingham, Massachusetts, March 23, 2012 – Bose Professional Systems Division has introduced its latest FreeSpace® products: the FreeSpace IZA 250-LZ/190-HZ integrated zone amplifiers, and the FreeSpace ZA 250-LZ/190-HZ zone amplifiers.  Each is easy to install and use, and offers greater flexibility and configurability for creating premium sound solutions for retail stores, schools, hotels, restaurants, and houses of worship.

The new FreeSpace IZA integrated zone amplifiers are designed for background/foreground music and paging applications.  Proprietary Bose Opti-voice® paging provides seamless paging over music, ensuring clear, natural speech is heard at the appropriate sound level in the selected area.  When used with Bose FreeSpace DS 40 and DS 16 loudspeakers, sound is further optimized through onboard selectable EQ presets.

The new FreeSpace ZA zone amplifiers provide basic amplification and sound system expansion when using front-end signal processing from Bose FreeSpace business music systems and Bose ControlSpace® engineered sound processors.  They can also be combined with the FreeSpace IZA amplifiers to function as one system -- with double the power -- sharing the same music paging sources, master volume control, and optional loudspeaker equalization.

For even greater flexibility, the FreeSpace® IZA and ZA amplifiers can be used as standalone products from any RCA line-level source, or with other loudspeakers and legacy systems.  They integrate reliable, high-quality Class-D amplification to provide powered channels that can operate at low (250-LZ models) or high (190-HZ) impedance: 2 X 50 W (4-Ohms) or 1 x 90 W (70/100V systems), respectively.

Each amplifier is compact, lightweight, and simple to install and use.  They can be placed unobtrusively on a table, desk or shelf.  For the FreeSpace IZA amplifier, setup is controlled from the front and rear panels, eliminating the need for a computer; users can easily make tonal adjustments, connect to and change sources or deliver pages.  Tonal balance in each zone is automatically maintained across all volumes with Dynamic Equalization –- a Bose innovation -- so there’s no need for manual adjustments.

Accessories
Optional wall-mount user interfaces for the FreeSpace IZA amplifiers enable volume and source selection controls to be placed away from the amplifier, in a separate room.  An optional Rack Mount Kit accessory for the FreeSpace IZA and ZA amplifiers provides further flexibility for fixed rack-mount applications.

Availability
The FreeSpace IZA integrated zone amplifiers and FreeSpace ZA zone amplifiers are available now from Bose through authorized Bose dealers.  They are covered by a five-year transferable, limited warranty.  For more information, please visit pro.Bose.com.
