FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Audio-Technica introduces ATM355VF compact clip-on condenser instrument microphone

The NAMM Show, Anaheim, CA, January 23, 2025Audio-Technica (booth 15313), a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 60 years, is proud to unveil the ATM355VF compact cardioid condenser clip-on microphone, designed for professional live and studio use. Engineered to capture the nuanced sounds of violins, violas, flutes, and other woodwind instruments, the ATM355VF offers musicians a seamless blend of performance, durability and versatility.

The ATM355VF features a high-sensitivity microphone that delivers clear and balanced audio reproduction, capable of handling sound pressure levels of up to 148.5 dB SPL. Its cardioid polar pattern ensures excellent frontal sensitivity for advanced feedback control while isolating unwanted ambient noise. This makes the microphone an ideal choice for both solo and ensemble performances in demanding environments.

The ATM355VF includes the AT8543 power module, which provides a switchable 80 Hz low-cut filter to minimize low-frequency noise. Designed for wired applications, the module connects via a locking 4-pin cW-type connector and features a 3-pin XLRM output. The microphone also supports wireless configurations with multiple models with terminations compatible with Audio-Technica cW-style and cH-style wireless body-pack transmitters, as well as Shure and Sennheiser wireless systems, offering unmatched flexibility for any performance setting.

A standout feature of the ATM355VF is its lightweight, flexible gooseneck design. This innovative construction ensures precise microphone positioning while minimizing mechanical noise and reducing strain on the 1.8-meter cable. The microphone is fitted with a windscreen to isolate noise and protect it from accidental damage, ensuring consistent performance during live performances and rigorous studio sessions.

To accommodate diverse sound environments, the ATM355VF supports interchangeable elements, which include the UE-O omnidirectional element and the UE-H hypercardioid element (both sold separately). This allows musicians to tailor the microphone’s pickup characteristics to their specific needs.

The ATM355VF also includes dedicated mounts to ensure easy and secure attachment to a variety of instruments. The AT8491V violin mount is designed for instruments with a body depth of 30 to 55 mm, offering one-handed attachment and minimal contact to preserve the instrument's resonance. The AT8491F flute mount accommodates diameters ranging from 12 to 30 mm and features scratch-resistant materials, making it suitable for flutes, other wind instruments, and cylindrical objects like microphone stands.

With its combination of advanced technology, thoughtful design, and comprehensive mounting options, the ATM355VF redefines what musicians can expect from a clip-on instrument microphone. Whether used on stage or in the studio, it ensures that the true character of an instrument's sound is captured with unparalleled accuracy and clarity.

A wireless compatible version, the ATM355VFcH, is also available as for use with Audio-Technica wireless products featuring the cH connector.
