Roland Displays Aerophone Digital Wind Instruments

The NAMM Show, Anaheim, CA, January 23, 2019 — Roland (Exhibit 10702, Hall A) is displaying its Aerophone digital wind instruments, including the streamlined model Aerophone GO (perfect for beginners or players of any skill level) as well as the flagship professional model Aerophone AE-10. The Aerophone GO is a unique and affordable digital wind instrument that’s simple to operate and fun to play featuring traditional sax fingering, a variety of onboard instrument sounds, headphones monitoring for quiet practice, easy transposing, and more. Aerophone GO features onboard Bluetooth® as well, providing access to extended functionality via the free Aerophone GO Plus and Aerophone GO Ensemble apps. Aerophone GO is light and runs on batteries for easy mobility, and features 11 high-quality onboard tones that include soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone sax variations, plus flute, clarinet, violin, synth lead, and more. A sensitive mouthpiece-mounted breath sensor also functions as a bite sensor, supporting expressive techniques like vibrato and pitch. The instrument includes an onboard speaker for personal monitoring and intimate performances, and it’s also possible to connect to external amplification for broader sound coverage. When connecting the Aerophone GO to a mobile device via Bluetooth®, the Aerophone GO Plus app allows users to play along with favorite songs and offers several functions to aid learning. The app also provides access to 50 additional sounds and lets users adjust performance settings. The Aerophone GO Ensemble app allows up to seven Aerophone GO players to perform together wirelessly. The flagship professional model Aerophone AE-10 offers an even more advanced Aerophone experience. Powered by Roland’s acclaimed SuperNATURAL engine, the AE-10 (with the most recent software update version 3.0 featuring 128 tones including 66 new tones) provides a wide selection of saxophone sounds with authentic response and playability, also with the ability to act as a MIDI controller. With the Full Range feature, users can automatically switch between sax types by key range. It also includes a wide selection of Roland’s latest synth sounds.
