The NAMM Show, Anaheim, CA, January 18, 2017 — Roland (Booth 303A, Level 3) is showing two guitar products that offer solid options for tone connoisseurs. The JC-22 is the latest model in the long-running Jazz Chorus guitar amplifier series, and the Blues Cube New York Blues Tone Capsule is the latest custom voicing module for the Blues Cube series.
The JC-22 Jazz Chorus guitar amplifier ($399 US Street) offers Roland’s classic JC clean tone and famous Dimensional Space Chorus effect in a light, compact amp that’s perfect for playing at home. Built to the same standards of sound and durability that the amp series is noted for, the JC-22 makes legendary JC tone more accessible than ever.
Offering the essential features of the popular JC-40 in an even more scaled-down size, the versatile JC-22 also works well for intimate performances and recording. Two independent power amps and custom-designed speakers deliver the genuine clean sound of the larger JC amps, while the trademark Dimensional Space Chorus effect fills the room with immersive 3D sound. The amp also includes a great-sounding reverb that operates in true stereo, as well as a standard mono input and front-panel stereo input for connecting stereo effects devices.
The user-installable Blues Cube New York Blues Tone Capsule brings a new, expressive voicing option to the Blues Cube amplifier series. Developed under the supervision of NYC guitarist Oz Noy, this custom voicing circuit captures the international diversity of the New York City music scene by changing the sound and response characteristics of a compatible Blues Cube amp to produce a voice and characteristics similar to a traditional British combo amplifier with EL84 tubes, while still incorporating elements of the Blues Cube’s American tweed heritage.
The New York Blues Tone Capsule is compatible with the Blues Cube Artist, Artist212, Stage, and Tour amplifiers, and is available for a U.S. Street price of $199.
