Roland Expands the V-Drums Lineup with Full-Size Bass Drums
for Big Stage Presence and Authentic Acoustic Kick Feel
High-quality bass drums with acoustic shells available separately and in new flagship and mid-level V-Drums kits
Los Angeles, CA, May 8, 2018 — Roland announces four V-Drums products that take the acclaimed electronic percussion lineup to new levels of acoustic realism. The KD-220 and KD-180 Bass Drums feature full-size wood shells with Roland’s advanced trigger electronics built in, allowing drummers to bring the commanding stage presence and familiar feel of an acoustic kick to any V-Drums kit or hybrid setup. The KD-220 is also included in the new flagship TD-50KVX V-Drums kit, while the KD-180 is included in the new mid-level TD-25KVX V-Drums kit.
Roland’s V-Drums are the world’s leading electronic percussion products, offering exceptional sound and playability plus powerful digital advantages like instant sound changes, easy volume control, integrated functions for practice and skill development, and many more. The new KD-220 and KD-180 Bass Drums elevate the V-Drums experience for performing players, combining true acoustic kick feel with the traditional look that stage drummers prefer.
The 22-inch KD-220 features a high-quality maple shell, while the 18-inch KD-180 features a high-quality birch shell. Both models come with custom chrome hardware and offer compatibility with double-kick pedals. Roland’s innovative air-damper mechanics work alongside the acoustic shell to “move air” and provide resistance as the beater hits the head, delivering stable and accurate triggering with real acoustic feel.
The flagship TD-50 series offers Roland’s latest advancements in drum technology, delivering the ultimate V-Drums experience for stage playing, practice sessions, and studio work. The TD-50KVX is the new premier set in the TD-50 range, adding the dynamic presence of the KD-220 Bass Drum to top-flight components like the TD-50 module with ultra-realistic Prismatic Sound Modeling, snare and ride pads with multi-element sensor systems, and more.
With the TD-25 series, serious drummers can tap into high-end V-Drums playability at a mid-level price point. The TD-25KVX is the new top-line kit in the range, combining the KD-180 Bass Drum with the expressive TD-25 module and a full complement of Roland’s famous mesh-head pads.
