The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® Supports High Resolution Audio Training Program for Home Technology Professionals, Launched by CEDIA and Leading Manufacturer Partners

Initiative promotes best integration practices

Denver, CO, September 10, 2014 - The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) announced today, in partnership with Sony and other leading manufacturers, the first High Resolution Audio (HRA) training program specifically developed for A/V specialty dealers and installers. The program will be conducted in cooperation with The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® and will focus on innovative ways to integrate hi-res compatible devices and music in new and existing homes.  This will result in a better overall entertainment experience for CEDIA member clients.

The announcement was made during this year’s CEDIA EXPO keynote address, which covered the emerging HRA market.

“This partnership assists CEDIA by providing our members with the latest tools and information that are available for High Resolution Audio,” stated Don Gilpin, Executive Director and COO of CEDIA.  “The support of The Recording Academy P&E Wing will also enable CEDIA members to create new solutions which integrate high resolution music services and devices, in the most seamless way possible.”

“We are delighted to help CEDIA members to better understand the key issues related to recording, mixing and mastering in high resolution,” said Maureen Droney, Managing Director of The Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing. “Given the expertise of our music professionals located in 12 chapters across the country, I’m pleased that this new HRA training program gives those in the field the best guidelines to follow and helps set the right expectations for consumers concerning hi-res music.”

The CEDIA High Resolution Audio training program is expected to launch during the first quarter of 2015.
