Wharfedale’s DX-1 Home Cinema Loudspeaker System Makes
Its U.S. Debut at CEDIA 2011

Hopedale, MA, Sept 7, 2011 — Sound Import, LLC, exclusive U.S. distributor for the Wharfedale (booth 5741) brand of dynamic loudspeakers, is presenting the U.S. debut of the Wharfedale DX-1 home cinema loudspeaker system at CEDIA Expo 2011. The DX-1 is a compact 5.1-channel satellite/subwoofer system that combines high-quality performance with elegant styling.
The DX-1 includes four wall-mountable satellite speakers, a center channel speaker and a powered 8 “ subwoofer. The system is available in a choice of high-gloss black or high-gloss white finishes to complement any home entertainment system and décor.
The DX-1’s satellite speakers (7.6" H x 4.9" W x 4.9" D) employ a 3-inch woven polypropylene woofer and ¾-inch silk dome tweeter, for smooth and detailed music and movie soundtrack reproduction and clear, articulate dialogue. The center channel speaker (4.9" H x 11.7" W x 4.9" D) has two 3-inch woofers and a ¾-inch tweeter.
The subwoofer (13.4" H x 11.4" W x 12.8" D) utilizes an 8-inch long-throw woofer, driven by a built-in 150-watt Class D amplifier. The subwoofer offers stereo line in, LFE (mono) line in and stereo speaker-level in connections, along with a volume control and phase invert switch.
The DX-1 is designed to provide outstanding clarity, speed, dynamic impact and bass response and is ideally suited to both movie soundtrack and multichannel music reproduction.
The Wharfedale DX-1 home cinema loudspeaker system will be available in the U.S. in November 2011.
