WAVES INTRODUCES STUDIO CLASSICS COLLECTION
— Bundle includes three masterful collections of plug-ins based
on legendary consoles:
SSL 4000 Collection, The API Collection, and V-Series; these plug-ins
make it
possible for end users to create the studio of their dreams —
WINTER NAMM SHOW, ANAHEIM, CA, January 17, 2008
— Waves Audio introduces the new Studio Classics Collection bundle,
comprised of three audio legends together for the first time in one
box: the award-winning SSL 4000 Collection, The API Collection and classic
British V-Series. This new bundle offers Waves’ hugely successful
analog audio console emulators in a convenient package while allowing
end users the flexibility to chain or combine any combination of the
programs together with just the click of a mouse. Waves’ R &
D team went to great lengths to re-create these legendary consoles—they
do not just mimic the components and circuit schematics; they recreate
every last nuance of original actual hardware behavior.
Developed under license from Solid State Logic, the revered
manufacturer of professional analog and digital consoles, the Waves
SSL 4000 Collection includes three meticulously modeled plug-ins based
on the legendary SSL 4000 Series: the SSL E-Channel (modeled on the
renowned Black Knob equalizer), the SSL G-Master Buss Compressor, and
the SSL G-Equalizer (modeled on the SSL G Series EQ292). Extensive testing
reveals that the Waves SSL 4000 plug-ins sound virtually identical to
their hardware counterparts. Experts who work with SSL boards every
day cannot hear any difference.
Developed in association with API (Automated Processes
Incorporated), The API Collection features four precision processors
based on renowned API modules: the 550A 3-Band Equalizer, the 550B 4-Band
Equalizer, the 560 Graphic Equalizer, and the 2500 Stereo Compressor.
Used by engineers worldwide on countless hit records, these modules
deliver a sound like no other. And according to the creators of the
original hardware, the API Collection is the only software that truly
recreates their actual sound.
The Waves V-Series, developed by modeling classic British
analog components in painstaking detail, offers three state-of-the-art
Vintage models that capture the sound of the consoles found in the world’s
most exclusive recording studios. Included are the V-Comp, a classic
feedback-based stereo compressor/limiter design with de-esser; V-EQ4,
emulating a classic 4-band console EQ with HF bell/shelving switch and
multiple HF center frequencies; and V-EQ3, modeled after two highly
regarded 3-band console EQ modules with continuously variable boost
and cut at three bands, particularly suited for vocal, midrange and
bass frequency control.
Gilad Keren, CEO of Waves Ltd., commented on the new collection:
“The Studio Classics Collection underscores our ongoing commitment
to providing audio professionals the tools they need in intuitive, state-of-the-art
formats. The SSL 4000 Collection, The API Collection and V-Series represent
essential components that produce classic sounds, and Waves is proud
to make them available in one package as the latest generation of audio
processing technology. The range of sounds at your fingertips in this
box is staggering, embodying a huge amount of music history while pushing
forward in new and exciting directions.”
