FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WAVES LAUNCHES GTR 2.0
— Waves’ popular hardware/software combo adds new range
of features including sounds developed with Grammy® winning producer
Peter Dennenberg —
WINTER NAMM SHOW, ANAHEIM, CA, January 19, 2006 —
Waves, the world’s leading developer of audio signal processing
tools, in association with legendary guitar maker Paul Reed Smith, is
proud to announce GTR 2.0, the latest version of its award-winning,
popular hardware/software system for guitarists. The new release follows
the recent testing and certification of Waves GTR for proper operation
under Pro Tools® 7.
Powered by the state-of-the-art Waves/PRS Guitar hardware
interface, the GTR system puts the world’s best amps, cabinets,
microphones and effects right at your fingertips. Since its release
last year, Waves GTR has received tremendous praise from critics and
customers alike.
For GTR 2.0, Waves’ top engineers went “tone
hunting” at Grammy® Award-winning producer Peter Dennenberg’s
ACME Recording Studios in Mamaroneck, NY. What they “captured”
is a major advance for GTR: The new version features three distinct
new amps: Sweet, Cream and Overdrive. It also features seven new cabinets,
hand selected and precision mic’d by Dennenberg from his extensive
private collection of vintage gear.
GTR 2.0 additionally features an improved guitar tuner
with sophisticated tracking that is even more accurate and easier to
use.
Last but not least, GTR 2.0 is now compatible with MAC
- MOTU MAS host Digital Performer, and Windows Direct X including Cakewalk
- Sonar, Sony Media Software - Sound Forge, Vegas, Acid, CD Architect,
Magix - Samplitude and Adobe Audition. Waves GTR 2.0 is also compatible
with Pro Tools 7 on both Mac® and PC.
