VOX Amplification announces a new acoustic simulator as the sixth
member of its popular
amPlug Series of portable headphone guitar
amplifiers. Each amPlug (Lead, Metal, AC30, Classic Rock, Bass and now
Acoustic) plugs directly into the output jack on any guitar, and
delivers an amplified headphone signal for private practice without the
use of an amplifier.
The amPlug Acoustic (APAG) features
circuitry that simulates the sound of an acoustic guitar. Two distinct
tones are available using the Fat/Bright switch, emulating steel and
nylon string guitars. The Blend control allows the acoustic tone to be
mixed with the original electric guitar signal for just the right
balance. In combination with an electric guitar’s own tone controls and
pickup selection, the sound variation is unlimited.
An AUX IN
jack is also provided, for jamming along or practicing to any MP3 or
other audio source. When using alkaline batteries, the amPlug Acoustic
can provide up to 27 hours of extended, on-the-go use.
The VOX amPlug Acoustic (APAG) will be available October 2009 with a list price of $56.00.
