LEADING GUITARISTS TUNE INTO
THE VOX AC30 CUSTOM CLASSIC
— Nick Wheeler and Mike Kennerty of The All-American Rejects,
Michael Zakarin of The Bravery and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez from The Mars
Volta all choose new VOX AC30 Custom Classic amps for their individual
sound and inimitable style —
WINTER NAMM SHOW, ANAHEIM, CA, January 19, 2006
— The All-American Rejects’ latest album, Move Along, released
July 2005, went gold after only two months of airplay. The Oklahoma-based
rock/pop quartet has performed on the American Music Awards, enjoys
nearly nonstop exposure on MTV, and was featured on the first-ever MySpace
Records album.
Both Rejects guitarists Nick Wheeler and Mike Kennerty
have been using VOX ever since Tim O’Heir, who produced their
first record, suggested the AC30 as an ideal match for their sound.
They now rely on the VOX AC30 Custom Classic whether playing clean or
dirty. As Wheeler points out, “It sounds great when you crank
it up — and it looks cool, too.” On the road, Wheeler also
counts on his AC30/6TBX. Kennerty, meanwhile, brags on his new AC30
Custom Classic: “I played VOX while recording the album. I always
enjoy them. I needed something for this tour, so we got the new Custom
Classic. It sounds great!” The All-American Rejects have a plethora
of tour dates and other items of interest posted at www.allamericanrejects.com.
The Bravery flaunts an inspired fusion of rock, punk and
dance sounds, which caught the attention of legendary band Depeche Mode,
who in turn chose them as the opening act on their current tour. Guitarist
Michael Zakarin of The Bravery has taken the VOX AC30 Custom Classic
Head along on his rocket trip to stardom. Zakarin notes, “I need
an amp that has the ability to accommodate both clean and crunch…this
has the capability to do both.” Find out more about The Bravery
at www.thebravery.com.
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, widely known for his onstage guitar
antics with The Mars Volta, has released an engaging solo album. Rodriguez-Lopez
is passionate about expressing himself, and enthusiastic about his ability
to do so with the VOX AC30 Custom Classic. Rodriguez-Lopez asserts,
“Tone-wise, it sounds angry to me. And that’s what I enjoy
when I play guitar.” A new Mars Volta album is in the works as
well, featuring the VOX AC30CC2X and Clyde McCoy Wah pedal. The Mars
Volta’s first-ever live album, Scab Dates, is also available.
