ALVAS MUSIC AND VOX TEAM UP FOR CARL VERHEYEN IN-STORE EVENT AND CHARITY PERFORMANCE
— JamVOX guitar entertainment system lets guitarists play in place of their guitar heroes —
MELVILLE, NY, April 10, 2009 — Alvas Music – a leading musical instrument retailer servicing southern California from their store and showroom in San Pedro – will be hosting an all-day event and charity benefit performance on Saturday, April 25, with guitarist Carl Verheyen, presented in conjunction with VOX Amplification and VOX Guitars.
Beginning at 9:00 am, VOX representatives will be on hand all day to demonstrate VOX products, including the Virage guitar and AC30 amplifier as used by Verheyen. Product giveaways will occur throughout the day, including a free JamVOX given away with every Virage guitar purchase. Refreshments will be available. 6:00 pm Free Guitar Workshop (Intermediate & Advanced)
Carl Verheyen will be offering tips and demonstrating his playing technique, including material from his instructional videos.
8:00 pm LIVE SHOW featuring the Carl Verheyen Trio!

One of the industry’s most in-demand session players, Carl Verheyen’s playing is heard daily by millions. Verheyen has also shared his playing style in various books and instructional DVDs. Verheyen rose to public prominence as a member of Supertramp, and continues to keep busy with session work while still finding time for his solo projects – including the recent Trading 8s.
Emerging over 50 years ago as the sound that fueled the British Invasion, VOX amplifiers and VOX guitars continue to appeal to the modern musician. Carl Verheyen has long been a fan of VOX amplifiers and has recently adopted the VOX Virage guitar as well. According to Verheyen, he used the Virage on numerous segments of the upcoming STAR TREK XI movie.
