SAE INSTITUTE OPENS WORLD HEADQUARTERS
AND STATE-OF-THE-ART DEGREE GRANTING CAMPUS
IN BYRON BAY, AUSTRALIA
— New Degree Center offers SAE’s largest University-style
campus
with interconnected audio, video, and multimedia facilities throughout,
as well as new Bachelor and Masters degree offerings and electives —
SAE Institute, a world leader in audio engineering, creative
media, and electronic music education, remains an innovator in the US
and abroad with the addition of the new SAE Institute World Headquarters
in Byron Bay, Australia. Staying true to the original vision of founder
Tom Misner, SAE offers cutting-edge, attractive education options, providing
valuable resources to the music and recording industries worldwide.
While SAE Institute has grown over the past 25 years to
include 41 campuses worldwide, the underlying theme of maximum student
time on state-of-the-art gear has remained at the top of SAE’s
priority list. Nowhere is this more evident than in SAE’s new
one million square-foot World Headquarters facility in Byron Bay, Australia,
which held its grand opening on July 25th of this year. Over 500 leading
music industry, business, media personnel, and Australian governing
officials were flown in to attend the gala event, along with SAE Institute
faculty and staff from all 41 campuses worldwide, bringing together
the immensely diverse campuses and resources SAE has to offer.
The new Degree Center incorporates SAE’s largest
university-style campus, complete with on- and off-campus student housing,
performance space, and over 130 audio/video suites and practical workstations.
31 on-campus studio complexes provide a myriad of studio environments,
including 10 surround-capable control rooms. The campus’s main
studio features a Solid State Logic XL 9000 K Series Superanalogue™
Console — the first ever of its kind to go into use at an educational
facility. Affordable packages are now being offered to students worldwide
to come study and live at the new facility or continue their education
with advanced degree offerings. Bachelor of Arts (Honors) Degrees in
Audio Engineering, Creative Media, and Digital Film are available, and
the new complex will also house facilities for newly added elective
courses including Dance Music, Digital Animation, and Live Sound curriculum.
SAE’s graduates from any campus worldwide can attend Byron Bay’s
Bachelors Degree portion in Australia for a full year of high intensity,
immersed training.
The Byron Bay World Headquarters grand opening coincides
with the establishment of Studios 301 Byron Bay, the latest in Misner’s
world-class studio group, which exists as a separately run, onsite professional
recording facility and home of 301 Records, Misner’s new record
label.
“SAE has remained a leader in pro audio and creative media education
through its longstanding tradition of using the collective offerings
of our diverse campuses for the benefit of SAE Institute students worldwide,”
stated Tom Misner, SAE Institute founder and CEO. “With the new
Degree Center here in Byron Bay, we are able to offer our widest range
of curriculum and hand-on instruction for students completing any of
our multiple degree courses here or furthering their SAE education from
campuses abroad. We have designed the campus to give students the ultimate
in professional gear and facilities in a completely interconnected environment
unlike any other. At this new state-of-the-art campus, SAE is able to
immerse students in an all-encompassing environment to successfully
foster their technical, as well as creative, skills. This is a facility
that will not only prove an effective learning tool for its students,
but will also act as the standard for quality audio and multimedia education,”
Misner concludes.
The new SAE Institute Degree Center Headquarters in Byron
Bay offers full audio degree certification programs for $9500 (US) including
tuition, furnished lodging, and personal insurance while attending the
Byron Bay facility. For further information on the new Degree Center,
