FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAE INSTITUTE CAMPUSES ASSUME ROLE
OF EXCLUSIVE SSL-APPROVED TRAINING CENTERS FOLLOWING PURCHASE OF 10
AWS 900 ANALOGUE WORKSTATION SYSTEMS
— SAE Integrates state-of-the-art consoles and manufacturer-approved
training curriculum into international network of educational facilities
—
NEW YORK, NY, November 17, 2004 — SAE Institute,
the world leader in professional audio, film and multimedia education,
recently announced the purchase of ten SSL AWS 900 Analogue Workstation
Systems, to complement its newly formed worldwide network of "SSL
Approved" training facilities. The new SSL Training Certification,
which is being offered exclusively at SAE's 42 on-campus studio facilities,
will also be incorporated into SAE's Audio Technology Program curriculum.
The first of the SSL AWS 900 consoles, chosen for its
rich integration of digitally controlled analog processing, is to be
installed at SAE's new Los Angeles campus, set to open in the spring
of 2005. The new facility, located in the heart of Hollywood, will serve
as the only "SSL Approved" AWS 900-based training facility
in the world, with nine more to be established at select SAE campuses
within the year. Each of the new consoles will also be fitted with SSL's
Total Recall option, which provides the AWS 900 with the ability to
memorize the position of analog potentiometers and switches, allowing
the console’s analog controls to be quickly reset for recreating
previous recording and mixing set-ups.
The new AWS 900 is designed to enable users to explore
the numerous benefits of analog processing with digital control, thereby
serving as an ideal educational platform and basis for further integration
into SAE's Audio Technology Program curriculum. With numerous SSL SL4000s,
9000Js and XL9000Ks in use worldwide, the new AWS 900 is a perfect fit
for SAE, which already utilizes a vast array of professional analog
and digital technologies in classroom and studio instruction.
Philippe Guerinet Director of SSL's International Sales
comments: "We are very honored to make this step forward with such
an internationally recognized organization, especially with the AWS
900. The AWS 900 is designed to allow operators to explore the dual
benefits of analog processing and digital control, as such it provides
an ideal educational tool for all aspects of professional workstation-based
production."
Remarking on the announcement, Rudi Grieme, Vice President
of SAE Institute stated, "SAE has been a supporter of SSL since
the very beginning, and we have chosen to incorporate their consoles
throughout our campuses. To bring their official training curriculum
into our world-class studios is the perfect marriage of technology and
application, literally brought into the classroom for our students.
The new AWS 900 consoles represent yet another landmark in the digital/analog
convergence that our audio professionals are experiencing every day,
and we are honored that SSL has chosen SAE campuses to be their exclusive
training ground for their world-renowned line of products."
