SAE INSTITUTE NASHVILLE EVENT
RESONATES WELL
WITH MUSIC CITY
NASHVILLE, TN — SAE Institute, the world leader in pro audio and
multimedia education for over 30 years, recently hosted a very special
evening for students, alumni and music industry guests at its Nashville
campus on February 2nd, hosted by SAE Nashville for its Founder, President
and CEO Dr. Tom Misner. Primarily held as a way to give students and
alumni a chance to network with music business professionals, the evening
also offered an opportunity for the local Nashville music community
to interface directly with students and faculty from across the country
at the state-of-the-art SAE Nashville facility.
The evening began with an informal lecture from Dr. Misner
who spoke about career preparation and how to succeed as an engineer
or producer in the industry today. Having spent time in Nashville earlier
in his career, Misner spoke about legendary Music Row and how its evolution
over the years has provided both challenges and opportunities for students
of professional audio. The evening continued as over 150 guests gathered
for a more formal celebration — Nashville style — as Misner
was presented with a traditional cowboy hat and a special cake commemorating
the 30th Anniversary of SAE Institute worldwide. Additionally, a Gold
Record Club award was presented to Dr. Misner on behalf of the Nashville
Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the contributions that he and SAE have
made to the Nashville music community.
The evening was topped off with a special performance
from Nashville's favorite guitar virtuoso, Johnny Hiland, who lent his
unmistakable sound to the event. The standing room only set ended well
after the party was officially over with an encore performance, with
Misner sitting-in with Hiland for the last few show-stopping tunes.
