SAE INSTITUTE NASHVILLE HOSTS 2 DAYS OF EDUCATIONAL INDUSTRY EVENTS WITH THE LEGENDARY ALAN PARSONS

— Students and fans alike are treated to an up-close
and personal session with industry icon —

Nashville, TN, November 14, 2007 — SAE Institute, the world leader in pro audio and multimedia education, recently hosted 2 days of workshops and seminars with artist/producer/engineer Alan Parsons as part of its ongoing educational series of events. A long-time associate of SAE Institute, Parsons led a day of in-studio sessions at SAE’s Nashville campus on October 26th, as well as two public forums sponsored by SAE at the Musicians Hall Of Fame on October 27th.

During Parson’s day at SAE Nashville, students and faculty were given the unique hands-on opportunity to learn many basic techniques for tracking and beginning a rough mix, while gathering important insights from Parson’s 30-plus years in the industry. Parsons emphasized aspects of recording ranging from pre-production and tracking methods to the importance of artist/engineer communication and having the proper attitude in the studio environment. Drawing from his vast experience on both sides of the glass, Parsons invited SAE students and staff into the studio with him to track the SAE Staff Band in the campus’ state-of-the-art SSL studio. The sessions also offered an intimate look into the production process of some of the best selling albums of all time on which Parsons worked, including sessions from his own musical career with The Alan Parsons Project, lending a unique alternate perspective to these priceless learning experiences designed specifically for SAE students.

The following day, Parsons led two industry-wide events at the Musicians Hall Of Fame at which local audio professionals and fans of Parsons were able to learn about and discuss many high-profile sessions on which he engineered, including work by Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and The Hollies. Topics included specific recording techniques to multiple final mixes and more. Attendees were also treated to several audio examples of Parson’s specific works as well as shown unique historical documents and photos relating to some of the greatest recordings of all time.
