FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAE INSTITUTE MIAMI GRADUATE WINS SECOND GRAMMY®
— José “Hyde” Cotto continues path to top
honors since graduating in 2003 —
MIAMI, FL, March 22, 2006 — SAE Institute
is pleased to announce that recent graduate José “Hyde”
Cotto was the recipient of this year's Latin GRAMMY® for Best Urban
Record for his work on Daddy Yankee’s latest album, Barrio Fino.
Having previously received a Latin GRAMMY, as well as working on other
multi-Platinum and award-winning releases, Hyde attributes his success
to the training and connections he made while attending SAE's state
of the art Miami campus.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Hyde has been involved with
music for many years, making his first appearance with his own music
on compilations and in the underground mix tape scene. At the age of
21 he decided to take his career to the next level by enrolling in the
Recording Technology Program at SAE's Miami campus, and soon began working
at The Lab Studios, also in Miami, where he had the opportunity to collaborate
on his first GRAMMY-nominated project before even graduating. Hyde has
continued to forge a successful career working with artists and producers
such as Vico C, Echo, Yaga & Mackie, Ivy Queen, Tego Calderon and
the GRAMMY-winning Daddy Yankee.
"I can honestly say that going to SAE Miami was one
of the best decisions I have ever made. I feel the training I received
at SAE has fast-forwarded my career 10 years into the future,"
Hyde explains. "Without the skills I developed there, I don't think
I would have been able to meet the challenges that I am facing today."
Hyde's challenges as a GRAMMY-winning engineer revolve
around his current position of Chief Engineer at The Lab Studios, working
with top musical artists, television and movie productions, and pursuing
his own artistic career.
