SAE INSTITUTE PURCHASES 10 DIGIDESIGN ICON CONSOLES FOR GREATER INTEGRATION
IN PROTOOLS EDUCATION AND BEYOND
— SAE’s latest expansion straightens the learning curve
with enhanced ProTools control and sonic capabilities —
— New installations further SAE’s ongoing commitment to
exposing students to the most advanced technologies available —
NASHVILLE, TN, July 27, 2004 — Worldwide leader in pro
audio education, SAE Institute, announces the recent purchase of 10
new Digidesign ICON Integrated Consoles for installation in their state-of-the-art
campuses worldwide. Beginning with the premiere European installation
of the highly acclaimed ICON console at SAE’s Amsterdam campus,
delivery of the remaining units will take place throughout the rest
of the year.
Known for its innovations in leading education initiatives
and professional audio programs, SAE has chosen the Digidesign ICON,
an “integrated console environment” to further advance its
many courses in ProTools-based recording and production. As a completely
custom-configurable audio production environment, the ICON utilizes
the industry-standard Pro Tools®|HD Accel as its core DSP engine.
Options include expandable analog and digital I/O, integrated remote
mic preamps, industry-leading Digidesign Development Partner effects
processing plug-ins and software options, seamless Avid picture support,
and comprehensive synchronization and machine control options. This
will allow students and instructors at SAE to more easily access and
utilize some of the more in-depth ProTools functions, while providing
the most intuitive tactile control surface available for the system.
“We are obviously very excited to take delivery
on the new ICON consoles,” stated Tom Misner, SAE Institute CEO
and Founder. “These new systems represent the highest standards
of processing control and audio perfection available, and will now serve
to enhance our facilities around the world. Our relationship with Digidesign
has helped enable us to bring the highest standards directly to our
students, and to be able to bring such large scale integration and standardization
as a whole to SAE globally. The ICON’s unprecedented design and
excellent sonic characteristics will remain an asset for our school
as the technology, along with our curriculum, continues to shape the
cutting edge or professional audio,” Misner concludes.
