— SAE Institute, the world leader in pro audio and multimedia
education for over 30 years, welcomes its newest campus in Atlanta,
Georgia. Located at the corner of Peachtree Street and Andrew Young
International Blvd. above the HardRock Café, the SAE Atlanta
location is convenient to all major MARTA public transportation lines
and Interstate Highways near the popular downtown district. Commencing
classes in August, 2007, SAE Atlanta became the fifth SAE campus in
the U.S., joining the New York City campus, which opened in 1999, the
Nashville campus, which also opened in 1999, the Miami campus which
opened in 2002, and the Los Angeles campus, which opened in 2006.
Under the direction of Director, Chris Davie, who has
been with the organization for six years, the SAE Atlanta campus offers
several comprehensive academic programs, including SAE’s highly-successful
Audio Technology Program, and is fully approved by the Georgia State
Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission. The 17,500-square-foot
building was built by world-renowned studio builder Michael Cronin of
Michael Cronin Acoustic Construction, based on a design by SAE’s
visionary founder and CEO Dr. Tom Misner. The campus has over 20 studios
and workstations including a 5.1 surround sound mixing theater featuring
a Digidesign Icon control surface and Pro Tools HD system. Other professional
audio equipment includes an SSL 4000G+ and Neve VR60 analog consoles,
multiple other consoles, Pro Tools HD systems, processors by Yamaha,
Mackie, Digidesign, Lexicon, Alesis, Focusrite, TC Electronics, and
Urei, with monitoring from Blue Sky and Mackie and other industry standards.
In addition, the facility features Golden Ears and Auralia ear training
stations, an FX training station with various outboard processors as
well as modern classrooms, fully equipped with audio/visual equipment
and campus amenities such as a full technical library and lounge/cafeteria
area. Furthermore, every new student receives an Apple laptop computer,
audio interface, and Pro Tools M-Powered, Bias Peak and Logic Express
software to further enhance and encourage each individual’s educational
experience.
In addition to state-of-the art facilities, SAE has always
prided itself on providing students with real world knowledge by top
instructors in the field. For example, Joshua Grau, SAE Atlanta’s
Director of Education, has a Master of Arts in Teaching/Bachelor of
Arts in Music Education, Florida Atlantic University. Mr. Grau’s
experience in the music and educational industry spans 24 years. As
an accomplished musician whose work can be heard on numerous commercially

joining SAE Atlanta, Mr. Grau spearheaded and directed a large music
technology & sound engineering program for the Miami Dade public
school system for six years.
Scott Kieklak, Audio Technology Instructor, began his
career earning an Associate of Science degree from the Art Institute
of Ft. Lauderdale. Upon graduation, he was hired by the Hit Factory/Criteria
Studio in Miami Florida. During his time at the Hit Factory, Mr. Kieklak’s
clients included Beyonce, Usher, Ludacris, Whitney Houston, Jennifer
Lopez and Lil’Kim to list a few. His efforts have earned him multiple
certified gold and platinum record awards.
Commenting on the new facility, Dr. Tom Misner, the renowned
engineer, mixer and producer who founded SAE in Sydney over 30 years
ago stated, “Atlanta has always maintained a thriving music and
arts scene which has attracted top professionals in all areas of media
and entertainment technologies. With the welcoming of SAE Institute
Atlanta, we will once again provide a strong industry resource for those
individuals looking to become part of the pro audio and music production
business, as well as a resource to local industry professionals who
will benefit from our world-class industry events and local efforts
in support of Atlanta’s musical community. SAE takes great pride
in offering the most comprehensive degree of audio education available,
and we look forward to continuing that tradition here in Atlanta and
beyond,” concludes Misner.
