GUITAR CENTER’S 2005 GUITARMAGEDDON COMPETITION
MELVILLE, NY, September 19, 2005 — Guitar Center recently awarded Marshall AVT50 combo amplifiers as prizes for the district finals of its 2005 Guitarmageddon competition. Legendary guitarist and Marshall endorsee John 5, known for his work with Marilyn Manson, was one of the judges at the grand finals, held in Los Angeles. John 5 helped declare Tennessee native Robert Provine as the winner from more than 3,000 undiscovered guitarists nationwide who participated in the four-tiered competition.During the grand finals, which were held at the legendary Wiltern LG Theatre, a Marshall MODE FOUR and Marshall DSL Amplifier were also used by some of the finalists, who performed to a packed house.
Now in its sixth year, Guitarmageddon brings together the country’s best undiscovered talent with top professional musicians to create one of the guitar world’s biggest events.
