MARSHALL FEATURES THE AS100D ACOUSTIC SOLOIST
AMP
NAMM SUMMER SESSION, NASHVILLE, TN, July 23, 2004 — Marshall
Amplification is showing its AS100D Acoustic Combo Amplifier, featuring
new, sonically enhanced Celestion speakers, a redesigned front panel
and a significantly lower price. The AS100D is a 4-channel, 2 x 8"
combo bolstered by a pair of polymer tweeters for maximum fidelity across
its entire frequency range. It offers 50W + 50W of stereo power (100
Watts total output) and a built-in limiter that ensures distortion-free
performance, even at high volume levels.
Its four independent channels — Acoustic Channel
1, Acoustic Channel 2, Microphone and Auxillary — provide flexibility
and can accommodate microphones, instruments with piezo transducers
or magnetic pickup and external stereo audio equipment. For instruments
with two pickups (e.g. piezo and magnetic) and a stereo jack, Channels
1 and 2 can be linked together with the AS100D’s “Link”
switch, giving the user independent controls for each pickup.
To help prevent the feedback often associated with amplifying
acoustic instruments, the AS100D has anti-feedback circuitry containing
a Phase switch and two sweepable,
Anti-Feedback, notch filters that can lower the selected frequency by
as much as 10 dB. Stereo pairs of balanced XLR DI Outputs and 1/4"
Line Outs are included as well.
A built-in Stereo Digital Effects section with 16 adjustable
effects is also included, as is a Stereo Parallel Effects Loop. For
added flexibility, the internal digital effects and external effects
loop can be individually turned on/off via the supplied dual footswitch,
allowing for effects mixing across the first three channels.
The Marshall AS100D is currently available with a US MSRP
of $1,000.
