FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LightViper™ for World Renowned Marie
Foster Performing Arts Hall
INFOCOMM, LAS VEGAS, NV, June 18, 2008 —
FiberPlex, Inc. announced that their LightViper™ audio transport
system was recently acquired by the Oklahoma-based Bartlesville Community
Center (BCC). The Marie Foster Performing Arts Hall within the BCC is
recognized as one of the finest performing arts venues in the country.
The 94,000-square-foot Center complex features the 1,700-seat state-of-the-art
theater. The acoustically superb Foster Hall hosts a wide variety of
music concerts and dance, as well as intimate theater and touring Broadway
extravaganzas. In addition to music concerts, the Center presents various
stage productions and offers meeting facilities for a broad spectrum
of civic groups.
Tulsa, OK-based sound design and integration company Sounds
From Heaven installed the advanced fiber optic audio system in the prestigious
auditorium. The stage-to-FOH run is approximately 450' to a digital
console that is equipped with LightViper MY-32 fiber optic digital interface
modules. A standard Model 1832 “plug n’ play” LightViper
fiber optic audio “snake” system with three splits (FOH,
Monitor and a third split for recording/broadcast with AES/BU digital
output) was specified by Sound From Heaven’s veteran Audio Engineer,
Gary Howard.
Howard commented on his client’s investment in fiber
audio routing technology:
“Our customer wanted an all-digital signal path that would integrate
well with their new digital sound console. In my opinion, nobody’s
CAT-5 stuff is really cutting the mustard. Anthony Hinton, the Center’s
Technical Director, was pleased we were able to add the LightViper fiber
system to the big Performing Hall, rather than Ethernet copper runs.
“The contrast between the new fiber optic LightViper system and
old system is remarkable; it’s a greatly improved signal path,
audibly superior. There’s more clarity and sharpness to the sound
now. No signal losses, no annoying grounding issues – no matter
what kind of act hits the stage. It was also a vastly easier upgrade
to install thin fiber optic cable in the building’s existing and
crowded conduits. That helped a lot too!”

Editor’s Technical Notes:
Fiberplex manufactures the LightViper fiber optic audio cable transport
systems. The LightViper systems offer total signal path isolation between
both stage and mixer as well as between the mixer and power amplification;
the cable is totally immune to ground loops, RFI, EMI and electromechanical
noise, and runs of up to 1 1/4 miles (6,600 feet) can be easily accomplished
without signal loss or degradation. FiberPlex includes a limited lifetime
warranty with all of its LightViper system components.
