Apex Productions Takes Benny Hinn on the Road
with LightViper™
— Three-way split covers FOH, monitors and broadcast truck with
pristine digital audio —
Annapolis Junction, MD, February 26, 2009 —
Famed television evangelist Benny Hinn racks up a lot of miles taking
his ministry on the road. In just March and April of this year, Hinn’s
troupe will have traveled to many cities including Porto Alegre, Brazil;
Atlanta, Georgia; and Rome, Italy. Despite the grueling schedule, the
audio is always great with the use of LightViper™ optical cable/audio
transport system from FiberPlex, Inc. The system is supplied by Apex
Productions, a Highland, Utah-based premier provider of production services
including audio, video projection & capture, lighting and staging,
as a key element of the sound reinforcement services they provide for
Hinn’s appearances. The LightViper system runs 64 channels of
audio from the stage to the front-of-house (FOH) mixing position, the
monitor mix position and the broadcast truck, which also records the
events. Both the FOH position and the broadcast truck also send 8-channel
returns to the stage via the LightViper system.
“There’s a wide variety of sizes and types
of venues we’re doing, and some of them, like arenas and dirt
fields, involve long cable runs,” explains Danny Huebsch, Founder
and Owner of Apex Productions. “LightViper can handle the long
distances that copper cannot, and fiber is a much easier and lighter
proposition than copper cable snakes. It was also a very cost-effective
solution, which saved the client money. So it’s great on a number
of levels.”
LightViper’s fiber optic system offers total signal
path isolation between both stage and mixer as well as between the mixer
and power amplification. The LightViper cable is totally immune to ground
loops, RFI, EMI and electromechanical noise, and runs of up to 1.25
miles (6,600 feet) can be easily accomplished without signal loss or
degradation.
