KORG TRITON STUDIO GOES TO AFRICA

MELVILLE, NY, June 21, 2005 —TRITON Studio, the flagship in Korg’s line of TRITON Music Workstations, recently took a leading role in a new six room recording and performance facility currently under construction in The Gambia, Africa. It was chosen as the main compositional music workstation for its superb sounds and complete set of production-oriented features. The TRITON Studio was also used to create a re-orchestration of the Gambian National Anthem, bringing new life to an important national symbol.

The new installation, contracted by Rob Wlodarczyk of Guitar Center Atlanta, includes a 300,000 Watt sound reinforcement system that complements a live performance stage, as well as a full array of gear housed in multiple studios, all slated for completion in late 2005. Veteran composer and performer Bruce Tillman, of Guitar Center Nashville, traveled to Gambia to assist with the installation. As a testament to the powerful brass and orchestral TRITON Studio sounds, Tillman was asked to use it to create a more modern version of the Gambian National Anthem. He was later commissioned by the president of The Gambia to record this new version, for which he used a TRITON Extreme at Troll Sound Studios in Atlanta. This new TRITON recording will be featured during events and concerts at the new Gambian performance center.

Tillman offered, “It was really an eye-opening experience, not only because I had never played through a 300,000 Watt sound system before, but also because when some of the local people at the install heard the sounds that were coming from the TRITON Studio, they were literally weeping. Many of them had never heard their own anthem played with such strong and clear sounding instrumentation, so they were amazed with the results. I left feeling confident that their new Korg workstation would make a strong impact for years to come.”
