KORG TRITON EXTREME GIVES
FUNK MASTER BOOTSY COLLINS A MUSICAL BOOST
MELVILLE, NY, July 12, 2005 — From the late 1960s club
scene in Cincinnati, to high-profile tours with James Brown and George
Clinton, to a successful solo career, bassist Bootsy Collins has traversed
the world of music in style. For the past 25 years, Korg keyboards have
helped Collins keep the funk alive.
Currently, he finds the Korg TRITON Extreme to be a perfect
musical inspiration. Collins says, “I use the TRITON in the studio
and onstage. It suits the needs of both worlds. I also like the compact
flash that you can save to. The sequencer is tight, the sounds and effects
are really good, and the tube takes me back to the good ol’ days.”
He adds, “I love its ease of use and reliability. It comes through
no matter what kind of project I’m doing.” Collins also
relies on a Korg MS2000 that he has “tweaked for the funk,”
an old MS20, a Karma music workstation and nearly every Electribe in
the series.
Continuing to tour and provide his talent to artists such
as Snoop Dogg and Fatboy Slim, Collins is also working on a Comedy Central
pilot, preparing for his first ever Christmas record, and redeveloping
the Kings Records recording studio, an historical landmark in Cincinnati,
with state-of-the-art audio and video equipment. For more information
