KORG HAS STRONG SHOWING AT AES
— Company exhibits products for live, studio and field recording
applications —
123rd AES CONVENTION, NEW YORK, NY, October 5, 2007
— Korg is exhibiting a selection of professional audio recording
and mixing products, including the D888 recorder/mixer, the MR Series
of 1-bit professional mobile recorders, and the ZERO8 mixer/MIDI controller.
The MR series deliver affordable 1-bit recording for the
first time. They are ideal for source recording, podcasting, broadcast
journalism (ENG/EFP), as well as archiving final mixes and master recordings.
The hand-held MR-1 offers high quality 1-bit/2.8 MHz recording and playback,
while the tabletop MR-1000 delivers up to 1-bit/5.6 MHz, doubling industry
DSD recording quality standards. Both support numerous formats and offer
conversion via the included AudioGate software, for extensive flexibility.
The portable D888 Recorder/Mixer functions as both a rugged
8-channel mixer with built-in effects and as a 8-track digital recorder.
It enables users to record multi-channel live performances in various
venues via a straightforward interface that is similar to a traditional
analog mixer. Native WAV recording and high-speed USB 2.0 data transfer
allow the recordings to then be easily shared with computer-based systems
for full editing and final mastering. Korg is currently offering free
Cubase4 Le software to deliver that total solution to purchasers.
The ZERO8 mixer is designed for the growing number of
computer-based musicians incorporating real-time mixing, MIDI control
and dynamic effects manipulation into their production and performance.
It integrates a digital mixer, FireWire audio Interface, MIDI control
surface and multiple effect processors in a single unit. A unique Matrix
Input Selector enables each channel to be instantly switched between
various input source types, act as a MIDI control surface, or as a combination
MIDI controller + audio channel. Additionally, the unit features a visually
arresting color-coded lighting system to indicate channel status.
