FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEXICON MC-4 DIGITAL CONTROLLER
CONTINUES THE LINEAGE OF WORLD RENOWNED MC-12

CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW, LAS VEGAS, NV, January 6, 2005 — Building on its rich history of providing sound processing to both world-class professional recording studios and the finest home theaters, Lexicon continues to bring cutting edge products to market with the new MC-4 Digital Controller.

Based on the critically acclaimed MC-12, the MC-4 is a reference-quality digital audio processor with 5.1 analog inputs to allow for separate Super Audio CD and DVD-A source players. The MC-4 has compatibility for 3 HDTV video sources, 5 DSP engines, 8 configurable inputs, an intuitive user interface, and the unmistakable sonic signature of the MC-12.

Product Objective and Result
The Lexicon MC-4 was developed for the user that demands uncompromising sound quality in a digital controller, with a wide array of input/output connectors. Providing clean and natural sound for both film and music, the MC-4 offers selectable playback in either LOGIC7®, THX® Ultra2 or THX Surround EX by utilizing 4 separate Analog Devices SHARC DSP engines and a Cirrus Logic DSP engine for Dolby® Pro Logic® ll, Dolby Digital Surround EX, DTS 96/24, DTS-ES (discrete and matrix) and DTS NEO:6 decoding. Audio is further enhanced by 8 D/A converters providing 24-bit resolution from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz, with classic Lexicon performance. A/D conversion is performed at 24-bit to maintain incredible sound quality with analog input sources. The MC-4 is THX Ultra2 Certified.

Control and Input Options
The MC-4 allows for input configuration of 8 pairs of RCA audio jacks. Options include up to 8 stereo devices; or 5 stereo devices and a 5.1-channel device; or 2 each of stereo devices and 5.1 channel devices for separate multi-channel audio devices such as DVD-A and SACD. Additionally, 4 coaxial S/PDIF and 4 optical S/PDIF input connectors are provided to accommodate up to 8 digital audio sources.

Video input includes 5 composite and 5 S-video connectors with NTSC, PAL and SECAM compatibility. Rounding out the video input possibilities are 3 sets of component video input connectors allowing for full High Definition TV (HDTV) compatibility. Two broadcast quality video switchers are built in to provide seamless transition and noise free output when switching video sources through the MC-4.

LOGIC7
LOGIC7 continues to be widely regarded as the preeminent sound decoder of choice for people wishing to convert from a 2-channel source up to full 7.1-channel sound. Input can be from 2-, 5.1- or 6.1-channel source material with the resulting conversion and sound a highly sought after feature. Unlike other decoders, operation is not dependent on source or additional encoding. LOGIC7 was developed after years of psychoacoustic research to enable great channel separation and a strong sense of envelopment.

Style, Design and Function
Built to the highest professional standards, the MC-4 is styled to complement Lexicon’s RT-10 Disc Player and LX/CX Series of power amplifiers, allowing it to blend naturally into any home theater environment. The MC-4 is further enhanced by the simple-to-operate user interface that distinguishes the Lexicon line. The menu-driven user interface allows for easy setup navigation. The front panel and remote control are also designed with only buttons for the most often used functions, making day-to-day use a breeze. Created for dedicated listening rooms without need for additional zones, the MC-4, combined with the RT-10 DVD player and a multi-channel LX or CX Series power amplifier, provides the end user with a playback system of the highest caliber.
