JOHN BATLINER NAMED PRESIDENT
OF THE HARMAN SPECIALTY GROUP;
WAYNE MORRIS, 22-YEAR VETERAN, TO RETIRE
BEDFORD, MA, March 24, 2006 — Gina Harman, the President of the Harman Consumer Group, announced the appointment of John Batliner as President of Harman Specialty Group, a Harman International Company (NYSE-HAR). The group manages the premier brands of Mark Levinson, Revel and Lexicon. Batliner will report to Ms. Harman in his new post.John Batliner has been with Harman for 12 years, serving most recently as Executive Vice President and managing all aspects of the Harman Specialty Group business. “John’s experience, leadership and devotion to the specialty business make this choice a natural,” said Harman. “He has earned the respect of our valued dealers, international distributors and the team at HSG.” A reasonable period of transition is well underway; Wayne Morris will remain active at HSG until the end of April.
Wayne Morris’ retirement is part of a lifelong plan. “After a rewarding career at Harman and more than 25 years in the audio business, I’m looking forward to traveling with my wife and doing some writing,” Morris stated. “I’ve traveled the world on business, and look forward to return visits at a more leisurely pace.”
According to Ms. Harman, “We’ll miss Wayne’s leadership, his humor and his energy. We celebrate his years of service and his enormous contributions to our business. All of us welcome John’s promotion – we know the specialty business is in excellent hands.”
