HARMAN SPECIALTY GROUP NAMES ANDY BAKER
INTERNATIONAL SALES MANAGER
BEDFORD, MA, February 26, 2004 — Harman Specialty Group, a Harman International Company (NYSE-HAR), has appointed consumer audio industry veteran Andy Baker to the position of International Sales Manager. The announcement was made by John Batliner, Executive Vice President of Sales of the Bedford, Massachusetts-based company, and further signifies the Harman Specialty Group’s continued growth and commitment to the high-end consumer audio industry.In his new position, Andy Baker will work closely with John Batliner and be instrumental in helping direct an intensified global sales effort for the Harman Specialty Group brands Mark Levinson, Revel, and Lexicon. He will specifically concentrate his efforts on the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets.
Baker has an impressive track record in the consumer audio industry with over sixteen years retail experience in the specialty HiFi and Home Theater markets in the UK, as well as heading up international sales and leading the custom install division for KEF. Most recently, he worked for SpeakerCraft Inc. helping develop its European distribution.
Commenting on the appointment, John Batliner stated, “Andy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from both a manufacturing and retail perspective to the Harman Specialty Group. His extensive experience with European distribution will help provide us with additional tools to grow our business abroad for Mark Levinson, Revel, and Lexicon. Andy is a real team player and we are very fortunate to have him.”
