GUITAR CENTER AND VOX TAKE MUSICIANS
ACROSS THE POND TO SEE THE BRAVERY
— Promotion is a Guitar Center first in sending winners overseas
—
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, February 17, 2006 — Guitar
Center, Inc. (Nasdaq: GTRC), today announced its March promotion in
which one lucky winner will receive a VIP trip to London to see The
Bravery play at Wembley Arena on April 3. Partnering with VOX Amplification,
a leading guitar amplification manufacturer for nearly five decades,
Guitar Center will provide the winner and a guest with a chance to meet
The Bravery while hooking them up with $500 in spending cash and a VOX
AC30 Custom Classic amplifier autographed by the band.
“We’re proud to be a part of this impressive
contest that Guitar Center has created,” said VOX USA’s
Mitch Colby. “It offers so many of the things that are exciting
to us as guitarists — a trip to one of the most musically-rich
cities in the world, a chance to see one of today’s hottest new
bands perform, spending money and of course a great new amplifier.”
Formed in early 2003, The Bravery quickly took the New
York indie rock scene by storm. The band’s self-titled debut album
was released in March of 2005 and has since elevated the band to worldwide
fame. In addition to having played last year’s Glastonbury Festival,
The Bravery has toured the U.S. and is currently touring Europe.
“Gear is an essential part of The Bravery and Guitar
Center has always supported us with equipment and beyond,” said
Pete Galli, manager of The Bravery. “We are very excited to work
with Guitar Center on this contest. Seeing The Bravery open for Depeche
Mode at Wembley Arena is the perfect way to celebrate gear and great
music — which is what Guitar Center is all about.”
The promotion will run from February 22 to March 19, culminating
with the winner announcement in late March. Interested participants
can submit entries at any Guitar Center location or online at www.guitarcenter.com.
Guitar Center will tag radio advertisements during the entirety of the
promotion.
