RAT SOUND SYSTEMS HAS THE XTA DP428 SYSTEM CONTROLLER ON THE BEST OF THE YEAR’S TOURS

— Foo Fighters, Weezer, Maroon 5, Jack Johnson, Pearl Jam and other leading artists all have the DP428 in their Rat racks —

— Comparison testing shows the XTA DP428 beats other controllers by miles —

FARMINGDALE, NY, May 26, 2006 — Rat Sound Systems has been a one of the leading forces in touring sound for music for nearly 20 years. The 2005-2006 touring seasons have seen artists including Foo Fighters, Weezer, Maroon 5, Jack Johnson and Pearl Jam out on the road using Rat’s legendary sound system components. All of those major tours had another thing in common: each system had speaker control and processing done using the rugged and reliable XTA DP428 Audio Management System. After years of comparison testing by Rat’s technicians, their choice is clearly the DP428 digital speaker controller.

We use the DP428’s on almost all the Rat tours,” says Systems and Tours Director Jon Monson. “In fact, we are presently planning on upgrading all of our XTA DP226 units for DP428’s in our house systems, and we are adding DP428’s for all of our wedge amp racks in our monitor systems. We use them almost exclusively for speaker control, and all of our house systems utilize a slight Rat modification of the Walkabout Kit for wireless control of the DP428’s. So they are really a very integral part of our PA systems.”

Company Owner and Founder Dave Rat has conducted extensive comparison testing of speaker processing systems over the years and the DP428 has emerged as the hands-down winner of those tests. Furthermore, Rat Sound is also listening to its clientele. “We find that the artists’ engineers do ask specifically for the 428 now,” notes Monson. “We have several more tours going out this year and they are all requesting the DP428. It’s a great unit and once you use it, you realize that it’s simply the best at what it does.”
