XTA BUILDS ON LATEST DSP SUCCESS WITH
DP4 SERIES AUDIO MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
NSCA EXPO, ORLANDO, FL — XTA Electronics is showing three
powerful processors as part of its groundbreaking line of DP4 Audio
Management Systems. Designed to provide a complete package for digitally
interfacing and managing even the largest of integrated audio systems,
the XTA DP4 Series units provide the ultimate audio quality and reliability
in several new I/O configurations based upon the critically acclaimed
original DP428 processor (now known as the DP448).
With an exceptional track record that includes tours with
Eric Clapton and U2, theater shows from London to Broadway, and major
events including the Turin 2006 Olympics, GRAMMY® Awards and Super
Bowl, XTA has delivered its new DSP platform to fit a huge range of
differing sound requirements. Paris’ Stade De France and the refitted
Amsterdam Arena are the latest major projects to benefit from XTA’s
speaker processing. In such a wide range of applications and demanding
environments, the new units were designed to help provide system contractors
and integrators with the best sounding, most reliable audio solutions
available.
The complete range of DP4 processors now includes a choice
of 2 or 4 inputs, with 4, 6 or 8 outputs: the DP424 (2 in, 4 out), DP444
(4 in, 4 out), the DP446 (4 in, 6 out), and the DP448, formerly known
as the DP428 (4 in, 8 out). Each unit features a 28-band graphic EQ,
eight filters, built-in delay, and multiple 48 dB crossover slopes.
Inputs and outputs feature precise gain control, while the outputs also
feature polarity switching, high/low pass filtering, delay, and up to
nine filters. Any input can be routed to any combination of outputs,
plus all ins and outs can be phase-adjusted in 2-degree steps. The crossover
offers a choice of three filter types (Bessel, Butterworth and Linkwitz-Reilly)
and 6, 12, 18, 24, or 48 dB per octave roll-off.
Two-stage RMS and Clip/D-max limiters are available, with look-ahead
for the Clip limiter attack time.
Digitally, the DP4 Series supports internal sample rates
up to 96 kHz, and can accept external sample rates to 192 kHz. AES/EBU
inputs are standard, and front-panel LEDs keep the user informed of
the unit’s status at all times.
XTA’s industry-leading AudioCore PC remote control
software can be used to control input and output routing from its intuitive
interface, and EQ curves can be adjusted quickly and easily via PC.
Up to 128 DP4 Series processors can be networked together and centrally
controlled via AudioCore using common XLR cables. For wireless control,
XTA’s Walkabout Kit allows fine-tuning the system from anywhere
in the venue for great sound in every seat.
