XTA EXHIBITS AUDIOCORE V8.42
— XTA adds versatile grouping control for live sound and fixed
installation applications —
— AudioCore V8.42 allows contractors to employ
Serial RS232 and RS485 remote capabilities, which in turn allows them
to
utilize controllers from industry leaders like AMX™ and Crestron™
—
NSCA EXPO, ORLANDO, FL — XTA Electronics is showing the
latest version of AudioCore, version 8.42, at this NSCA Expo, providing
contractors and live sound engineers a new level of “Array Control.”
Based on requests and feedback directly from the market, AudioCore V8.42
enables any output of any connected XTA unit to be grouped into one
of up to 28 zones, allowing tiered architecture gain controls to be
set up. This means that zones and sub-zones can be easily set up with
immediate access, all with relative gain structures. With the availability
of XTA’s next generation AudioCore, V8.42 becomes an indispensable
tool for controlling large venues on a room-by-room basis, or for line
array speaker systems.
The latest “Array Control” feature can assign
any output from the DP4 Series Audio Management Systems into any of
28 zones, and then control them on a single “virtual” fader
or touchscreen. Each zone may be muted, solo’ed and its metering
point individually defined. In addition, V8.42 addresses the delay editing
screens and allows “Tabbing” around the screen using the
ENTER key.
The latest AudioCore control software allows remote control
of all the current range of XTA’s AudioCore products (DP4 Series,
DP226, DP224 and the DP6i). The software allows up to 128 DP4 Series
units to be controlled via a PC computer using RS232 or RS485 interfaces
(allowing them to be utilized by controllers from industry leaders like
AMX™ and Crestron™) and via TCP/IP (with suitable adapter)
and is compatible with Windows® 98/ME/2000, NT and XP. XTA’s
AudioCore PC control software has already been used in a wide range
of applications, including high profile systems with the Red Hot Chili
Peppers and for the 2006 Winter Olympics.
AudioCore V8.42 can be downloaded free at www.xta.co.uk
and set-up off- or on-line.
Commenting on V8.42, XTA’s John Austin stated, “In
a live application, assigning different elements in a speaker array
to different zones is very attractive. Conceptually, it is similar to
Groups on a console. Depending on the array’s size and shape,
plus the coverage required, different elements can be assigned together,
such as all long-throw mids or HFs. Using AudioCore V8.42, control is
quick and simple.” He continues, “For the contractor to
create different zones in a VIP area, bar, health club, house of worship
or restaurant, now takes only a minute or two. The XTA processors, and
therefore the speaker system zones can be integrated into a control
system, and the zones can have all gain control from a singe central
point.”
