EAW CHOOSES MC2 AMPLIFIERS FOR
“BRAINS, BOXES AND BEYOND” (B3) TECHNOLOGY TOUR

121st AES CONVENTION, SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 6, 2006 — Leading UK-based amplifier manufacturer MC2 Audio Ltd. has been chosen by EAW for its current “Brains, Boxes and Beyond (B3),” a series of technology seminars appearing throughout North America that provides in-depth education to audio professionals. EAW chose four each of the MC2 Audio Ltd. E25 and E45 power amps to drive the EAW KF730 line array loudspeakers as well as EAW NT Series and DSA Series loudspeakers.

The seminar series, which kicked off with a packed session in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, will be presented in larger metropolitan areas around the U.S. at regular intervals in the coming months. The curriculum for the one-day intensive seminars was developed by EAW Technical Training Manager Bernie Broderick and EAW Commercial Product Manager Dave Raneses, who collectively offer more than 40 years of audio training and product development experience.

Each seminar session runs for a full day and offers diverse audio coursework in a live lab setting, with six educational sessions presented. Two subjects covered in-depth include point-source theory and line-array theory, as well as various mechanical, acoustic and operational topics. Rather than being confined to a classroom, attendees utilize full-scale EAW systems to evaluate and further refine the points being presented. Open dialogue is encouraged and there is plenty of opportunity for discussions and Q & A with instructors and fellow attendees alike.

“Both Dave Raneses and I are very pleased to utilize MC2 Audio amplifiers to drive the EAW loudspeakers on our Brains, Boxes and Beyond training tour,” says Bernie Broderick, EAW Technical Training Manager. “An extremely important consideration for any pro-touring amplifier is roadworthiness. The MC2 amplifiers have proven themselves extremely reliable under the harshest of conditions. They run flawlessly, sound pristine and look cooler than all get out!”

MC2 Audio Ltd.’s lightweight (switchmode) E Series power amplifiers provide high quality, high performance solutions to the fixed installation and touring sound markets. The E45 amplifier offers 2250W/channel into 4 ohms (3200W/channel into 2 ohms; 1200W/channel into 8 ohms), weighs 24.25 lbs. (11 kg) and measures 3.50 x 19.00 x 16.85" (88 x 482 x 428 mm), while the E25, rated at 1250W/channel into 4 ohms (1750W/channel into 2 ohms: 650W/channel into 8 ohms), weighs 22 lbs. (10 kg) and measures 3.46 x 18.98 x 16.85" (88 x 482 x 428 mm). All units are housed in a 2U chassis.
