GENELEC MONITORS HELP FAMILY CHRISTIAN NETWORK RAMP UP GLOBALLY FOR NEW BROADCAST AND HEADQUARTERS FACILITY

— New four-studio complex in North Carolina features Genelec 1039A main monitors and 7073A subwoofer in primary tracking room, with three pairs of Genelec 8050A near-field monitors in additional studios making it an all-Genelec monitoring environment —

NAB SHOW, LAS VEGAS, NV, April 16, 2007 — Family Christian Network, a rapidly expanding international religious broadcaster located in San Jose, Costa Rica, will open its new combined world headquarters and media facility in a suburb of Wilmington, North Carolina in May. The facility, named Fore Christ Studios, will operate four state-of-the-art studios — a large audio tracking room with its own control room, an audio overdub/transfer studio and two audio/video editing suites. Each one of these four studios will be equipped with active monitors from Genelec. The facility will be used to produce religious programming to support Family Christian Network’s global ministry, founded by Dr. DeCarol Williamson.

The main control room, Studio A, is fitted with a pair of Genelec 1039A Main Control Room Monitors coupled with a Genelec 7073A Active Subwoofer. The other three studios each have a pair of Genelec 8050A Bi-Amplified Monitors as their primary monitoring systems. This, says Jimmy Blankenship, Chief Recording Engineer for Family Christian Network, provides audio consistency throughout the facility, which is critical for accurate monitoring across the wide range of distribution channels the Network will utilize. In addition to its broadcasting enterprises, the organization also plans to establish a record label based at the Wilmington facility. “I’m glad we have the Genelecs in every room, because of the consistency of the sound,” remarks Blankenship. “I also love the way Genelec’s DCW [Directivity Controlled Waveguide™] technology reduces any room coloration. It’s incredibly accurate, with great imaging. Those are things that Genelecs have always done well. As a result, they’re not hyped like other speakers. And I love the way the newly designed 8050 sounds. I’ve listened to dozens of other speakers and the Genelecs seem to always come out on top.”
