GUITAR CENTER PROFESSIONAL COMPLETELY OUTFITS TWO NEW STUDIOS FOR GLOBAL
HIT-MAKERS JYP ENTERTAINMENT IN NEW YORK CITY
— Studios with Digidesign D-Command and Tascam DM3200 consoles
give
Korean R&B phenomenon J.Y.Park a foothold in the U.S.
as he expands his international music empire —
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, April 11, 2008 —
When J.Y.Park (aka Park Jin-young), one of Asia’s leading music
icons, decided to bring his JYP Entertainment company to the U.S. market
last year, he called upon Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro), the outside
sales division of Guitar Center that focuses on the needs of professional
users, to help him design and outfit his unique recording facility.
Park, South Korea’s most successful music artist and producer,
and one of the most successful throughout Asia, has produced 24 number-one
singles and 18 number-one albums in his career, including the 2002 World
Cup Official Album. And Park comes to the U.S. with two heavy-hitting
singles projects already released: Will Smith’s “I Wish
I Made That” and Mase’s “The Love You Need.”
GC Pro was able to provide Park with two state-of-the-art studios, where
he is currently working on projects with artists including Lil’
Kim, Outkast, Hillary Duff, Lil Jon, Tyrese and 3LW.
“J.Y.Park is an incredible talent and he will make
a significant impact on the music industry in the U.S.,” says
PK Pandey, New England Account Manager at GC Pro, who handled the entire
project with the Walters-Storyk Design Group (the acoustical design
firm responsible for the design of Park’s Studio). Like most of
the large and complex projects that GC Pro undertakes for clients, this
one came about because of GC Pro’s extensive relationships throughout
the music community. Pandey’s long-time relationship with Woo
Rhee, JYP Entertainment’s Chief Engineer, brought him together
with Park. “GC Pro provided a turnkey studio and continue to provide
support, service and training,” says Pandey. The facility is extensive.
The lower level consists of office, dance rehearsal and audition areas.
Upstairs, Studio A’s control room features a Digidesign 24-fader
D-Command console and a ProTools HD system. Other gear includes Grace
preamps, Radial direct boxes, Telefunken ELAM251 microphones, Bryston
amplifiers and custom-built main monitors, designed by Pandey and WSDG,
outfitted with TAD Components. Studio B offers a Tascam DM3200 Console,
Digidesign ProTools HD, and a large array of outboard gear. Pandey and
GC Pro didn’t stop there, though. They provided custom-designed
balanced power systems for the whole facility to ensure clean power
with power backup systems in place, as well as a customized SNS RAID
file sharing network designed and integrated by Pandey’s team,
which is also providing ongoing support and training.
“J.Y.Park’s talents needed a partner that
could match his vision,” says Pandey. “GC Pro is the only
organization that that could provide the range of equipment and technology
that he needed, as well as the design knowledge and the ability to provide
ongoing support and training.”
