Audio-Technica Expands Sponsorship Role for the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

— Already a longtime microphone sponsor, A-T is now also headphone sponsor for non-profit mobile studio —

NAMM SHOW, ANAHEIM, CA, January 24, 2013Audio-Technica (booth 6740), a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 50 years, has expanded its role as sponsor of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio. For several years, A-T has served as the Bus’s microphone sponsor, and they now also serve as headphone sponsor, supplying ATH-M40fs Precision Studiophones and ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones to be used by the Bus’s patrons.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus travels around the U.S. throughout the year. Outfitted with traditional musical instruments as well as high-tech professional audio and video gear, the Bus has provided free hands-on programs since 1998 for hundreds of high schools, colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conferences and community organizations.

Jeff Sobel, John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Chief Engineer, stated, “The Lennon Bus demands a lot from its equipment. The ATH-M50’s have exceptional accuracy for critical listening and the power and isolation needed for tracking. But equally important: they're built tough. Each year we record over a thousand enthusiastic kids and host thousands more in our public hands-on demo tents, and Audio-Technica's are the only headphones that have endured this daily abuse without failing.”

“It was an easy decision to expand our commitment to the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and Songwriting Contest,” said Gary Boss, Audio-Technica Marketing Director. “It has been extremely rewarding to work with them, as A-T shares the Bus’s goal of getting more young people involved in making music.”
