AUDIO-TECHNICA ANNOUNCES NEW 700 SERIES FREEWAY™
FREQUENCY-SCANNING UHF WIRELESS SYSTEMS
— Five new, affordable UHF wireless systems feature automatic
frequency scanning and
eight selectable channels for interference-free performance —
NAMM SUMMER SESSION, AUSTIN, TX, July 14, 2006
— Audio-Technica, leading manufacturer of professional microphones
and headphones, has announced the new 700 Series Professional UHF Wireless
Systems. Representing the latest generation of A-T’s popular Freeway™
UHF wireless systems, 700 Series systems provide automatic frequency
scanning, which selects an open channel at the touch of a button —
an unheard of feature in this price range — for interference-free
performance and exceptional audio quality in a diverse range of applications
including live performance, houses of worship, public address and aerobic
instruction.
Available in handheld, headworn, lavalier, guitar and
body-pack configurations, the new 700 Series Freeway systems feature
automatic frequency scanning, eight selectable frequency-coordinated
UHF channels, diversity operation for interference-resistant reception,
and a Tone Lock™ squelch system that eliminates noise when the
transmitter is off. All channels are compatible, so up to eight systems
may be used simultaneously. Visual feedback is provided by an LED channel
display as well as by antenna and AF Peak indicator lights. Balanced
XLR and unbalanced 1/4-inch output connectors allow the 700 Series receiver
to interface with the most popular audio inputs.
The 700 Series UniPak™ transmitter, included with
all 700 Series Freeway body-pack systems, features a soft-touch power/mute/off
switch, separate instrument/mic trim control, switchable high/low RF
power, internal channel selector, multi-color battery/power/mute indicator,
professional locking connector and AA battery operation. Four body-pack
system configurations are available: the ATW-701 UniPak system (includes
receiver and UniPak transmitter only), the ATW-701/G Guitar system,
the ATW-701/H Headworn system, and the ATW-701/L Lavalier system. All
700 Series body-pack systems are compatible with the wide selection
of Audio-Technica Wireless Essentials™ microphones and cables.
The ATW-702 Handheld microphone transmitter features a
rugged unidirectional dynamic element, and includes a variable microphone
trim control, internal channel selector, easily accessible soft-touch
power/mute/off switch, multi-color battery/power/mute indicator and
AA battery operation.
Both the handheld and body-pack 700 Series Freeway systems
provide up to eight hours of continuous use without a battery change.
All 700 Series UHF wireless systems offer clear, natural sound quality,
and are designed for maximum ease of use.
The Audio-Technica 700 Series wireless systems will be
available July 2006 with U.S. MSRPs as follows:
