Solidsteel’s S5 and S3 Equipment Racks Offer Elegant Design,
High Value, Superb Isolation and Total Stability
INTERNATIONAL CES, LAS VEGAS, Nevada, January 6, 2015 – Solidsteel equipment racks combine elegant Italian design with exceptional sonic performance and rock-solid stability. Distributed by Sound Solutions in the U.S., Solidsteel’s newest S5 and S3 equipment racks bring engineering attributes drawn directly from the company’s flagship Hyperspike Series racks to more attractive price points. The S5 and S3 are on exhibit at CES 2015 at The Venetian in the Wharfedale/Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Suite 29-120 and in the Balanced Audio Technology Suite 29-122.

For the ultimate in vibration isolation, the Solidsteel S5 series features an anti-vibration system that is exclusive to the S5 lineup. Each main structural shelf holds a second shelf that rests on four adjustable Solidsteel cones that are placed into cone cups inset into the main shelf. This technique provides unmatched isolation along with increased total shelf mass. Each shelf is not only decoupled from the other but the most resonant part of the shelf – the center – is effectively removed. Air- and floor-borne vibrations are no longer a consideration.
The S5 is modular in design and utilizes dual-isolated MDF shelves and non-welded aluminum support poles. Aluminum provides numerous advantages – it’s lightweight, non-resonant, has exceptional rigidity and damping and is non-magnetic. The rack is supported by vibration-isolating spikes and is supplied with floor protectors. The Solidsteel S5 is available in 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-shelf configurations in black finish with suggested retail prices from $599 to $1,499.
The Solidsteel S3 series combines outstanding sonic performance with rock-solid stability, superior isolation and appealing Italian design. The S3 racks utilize MDF shelves and strong, lightweight yet highly rigid, non-resonant aluminum poles and structural elements to provide rigid coupling to the shelves and block unwanted vibrations. The S3’s clean, minimalist design and black finish complements any music or home theater system and listening room. Like the S5, the S3 is modular in design and comes in 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-shelf configurations at suggested retail prices from $349 to $799.
