The Versatile Roland VR-50HD All-in-One AV Mixer Helps Visual Horizon Communications (VHC) Turn Breakout Sessions into Breakthrough Events

The Roland VR-50HD adds enormous flexibility to VHC’s Break-Out Room Integrated Solution system, providing VHC clients with seamless audio mixing and video switching capabilities for
breakout sessions during conferences and meetings

Los Angeles, CA, June 15, 2016 — Visual Horizon Communications (VHC), a boutique AV, staging and event-production company that for over 30 years has partnered with production professionals, experiential marketing agencies, and corporations to deliver creative and technical solutions for corporate meetings, trade shows etc., has been a longtime user of the Roland VR-50HD All-In-One AV Mixer. Starting in 2014, VHC began integrating the VR-50HD with its VHC Break-Out Room Integrated Solution (BORIS) system, a solution offering efficient setup and strike, user-friendly operation, premium equipment and budget-driven price. Together, BORIS and the Roland VR-50HD create a synergy for VHC clients including 3M, Best Buy, General Mills, Macy’s, Mortenson Construction and other well-known brands. The combined system has been implemented nearly two dozen times in the last few years.

David Goerg, President and Owner of Visual Horizon Communications, recalls, “We researched many different options for BORIS. In the end, we decided on the VR-50HD, as it met our technical and budgetary requirements and most importantly our clients' expectations. It was everything we needed in one box.”

Derrick Sheller, Vice President at VHC, says the growth in the number and complexity of events created the demand for a flexible yet simple breakout room AV system. VHC devised its BORIS solution for meeting planners and others who needed an alternative to unreliable hotel-provided equipment. With BORIS, clients get a system that can serve groups of up to 125 people on a single cart that can navigate tough-access spaces. Using features such as a 6.5 x 10-foot projection screen with two preset adjustable heights, a Panasonic projector with stand, two audio speakers, two Shure wireless microphones, a podium microphone and laptop connections and iPad adapters, BORIS systems create a cohesive experience from room to room. But as the AV demands of meetings grew more diverse and complex, VHC saw the VR-50HD as the perfect way to expand BORIS’s usefulness and value. “When we discovered the VR-50HD, we knew we didn’t have to look any further. Now our clients can bring in multiple input sources, from DVD players to laptops and iPads — the VR-50HD can handle them all seamlessly. And it’s incredibly simple to use; there’s no downtime needed for an operator to try to figure it out. It just works. We’ve used it for dozens of clients now, including Best Buy and Target. We never worry about performance. The VR-50HD just keeps on delivering.”

A complete portable HD studio in a single unit, the Roland VR-50HD All-in-One AV mixer beautifully integrates an audio mixer, video switcher, multi-viewer touch screen and USB video/audio streaming into a stand-alone device. This single unit delivers functionality that until now required a number of peripheral devices to accomplish. This portable live HD production solution is ideal for schools, churches, council meetings, corporate events, sports, trainings, or any other live event. Features include 12 inputs, 4-channel video plus still channel multi-format switcher; support for 3G/HD/SD SDI, HDMI, RGB/component, and composite video inputs up to 1080p (3G SDI); embedding of audio with delay settings; 12-channel digital audio mixer with XLR, TRS, and RCA jacks along with audio from SDI and HDMI inputs; 4 Layer compositing of PinP, PinP/KEY, and STILL; built-in preview touch monitor (7-inch graphic color LCD 800 x 480 dots); external multi-view output through HDMI; HDCP support; and USB3.0 video/audio output for web streaming and recording up to 1080p (uncompressed).
