FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Second Annual P&E Wing Latin GRAMMY® Week Celebration, "En La Mezcla," Held by The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing®

THE NAMM SHOW, Anaheim, Calif. (January 22, 2015) — The Producers & Engineers Wing® of The Recording Academy® (Booth 4700, Hall C), in partnership with The Latin Recording Academy®, held its second annual Latin GRAMMY® Week celebration, titled "En La Mezcla" ("In the Mix"), on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Studio at the Palms (inside the Palms Casino Resort) in Las Vegas. The invitation-only cocktail reception marked the official start of Latin GRAMMY® Week and celebrated the diverse group of Spanish-, English- and Portuguese-speaking individuals working "behind the glass" to create some of the most memorable recordings in the history of music, while acknowledging current producers and engineers nominated for Latin GRAMMY Awards within their respective categories. Latin GRAMMY Week culminated with the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards™, held on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and was broadcast in the U.S. on the Univision network.

"En La Mezcla" was co-hosted by multiple GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® Award-winning producers and engineers Benny Faccone, Gustavo Santaolalla and Rafa Sardina. Gabriel Abaroa Jr. (President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy) and Laura Tesoriero (Chair of The Latin Recording Academy Board of Trustees) were in attendance, as well as high-profile members of the P&E Wing community and several Latin GRAMMY-nominated artists.

The cocktail reception included a presentation by Managing Director of the P&E Wing, Maureen Droney, and was followed by welcome remarks from Abaroa, Faccone, Santaolalla and Sardina. Mr. Pauer performed live as DJ, and Best Tropical Album nominee Aymee Nuviola performed a live acoustic set featuring Sammy Figueroa on congas.

The event was sponsored by HARMAN® Professional brands AKG®, dbx®, JBL® Professional and Lexicon®; GC Pro; Iron Mountain Entertainment Services; iZotope; and Native Instruments. Beverages were provided by Heineken and Buchanan's Whisky.

In her opening remarks, Droney stated, "Tonight we celebrate the current Latin GRAMMY nominees in the producing and engineering fields, as well as our overall P&E community and those whose support is so beneficial to our craft: the studio owners and managers, acousticians, equipment designers, manufacturers and others who work so closely with us."

"En La Mezcla" is part of the itinerary of events held by the P&E Wing around the country that provide a platform for key industry leaders to meet and exchange ideas in a casual and social environment. Last year's inaugural "En La Mezcla" event was co-hosted by multiple GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY Award-winning producers and engineers Carlos Alvarez, Rafael Arcaute and Moogie Canazio.
