The awards recognize and honor legendary black music, radio and retail industry figures who have distinguished themselves by their contributions as trailblazers, trendsetters, teachers and/or mentors and paved the way for many in the entertainment industry, especially minorities and women. Trawick’s award was presented by noted music industry attorney Virgil Roberts.

Trawick remarked, “It is an honor to be recognized by this prestigious group of industry professionals and friends. Each day, the Pensado organization hopes to make a positive impact on the music and audio communities, and I suppose that being acknowledged with the Creative Visionary Award means that our message has really gotten out there. Thanks again to the Living Legends Foundation. It is humbling to receive this award, and I look forward to being involved in next year’s ceremony.”

When asked why he has pursued such a diverse career arc, Trawick replied "Why not? It’s a privilege and a blast.”

About the Living Legends Foundation Awards:
In early 1991, record industry icon Ray Harris, record executives Barbara Lewis and C.C. Evans and radio programming legend, the late Jerry Boulding founded The Living Legends Foundation, Inc. (LLF). The purpose was to recognize and honor legendary black music, radio and retail industry figures who have distinguished themselves by their contributions as trailblazers, trendsetters, teachers and/or mentors and paved the way for many in the entertainment industry, especially minorities and women. Those selected to be honored at the annual Awards show are industry professionals who have or who are breaking new ground in the arenas of recorded music, broadcasting or any of the allied fields such as publicity, marketing and publishing, to name a few. Honorees represent the best the industry has to offer and further the ideals and work ethics that were first exhibited by the pioneers who opened or kicked down doors for minorities in the industry. Past honorees have included Clarence Avant, Antonio “LA” Reid, Charles Warfield, Stephen Hill, Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff, Quincy Jones, Larkin Arnold, Jermaine Dupri, Brenda Andrews, Jon Platt, Cathy Hughes, Rushion McDonald, Gail Mitchell, Keith Clinkscales, Doc Wynter, Troy Carter, Big Boy, the late Jack “The Rapper” Gibson and many others.

About the Living Legends Foundation®, Inc.:
The LLF is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization funded primarily with corporate contributions and individual donations. Over the years, the LLF has expanded its mission from just recognizing the achievements of the trailblazers of yesterday and today’s new visionaries to providing assistance to those within the music and broadcast industries who find themselves facing financial hardships. Unfortunately, unlike today with corporate pension plans and 401K options, many of the early pioneers were left without healthcare, retirement funds and other benefits to sustain them when their careers were over. Since its inception, the LLF has provided financial assistance to those in need and reviews those requests on a case-by-case basis.
