KORG USA PREPARES FOR GROWTH WITH NEW HIRES AND APPOINTMENTS
MELVILLE, NY, April 6, 2011 — Korg USA, exclusive U.S. distributor of Korg, VOX Blackstar, Lâg and HK Audio products, has announced several personnel appointments and new hires that reflect Korg USA’s dedication to expanding the reach of its brands, while maintaining its status as a market leader in the M.I./professional audio industry.
Industry veteran Loren Molinare has been hired as Blackstar USA Product Manager; Rich Formidoni has been promoted to Korg Technology Product Manager in the U.S.; Long-time Korg employee James Sajeva has been appointed as Product Manager for the Elements line of HK Audio products in the U.S.; and Brian Piccolo has joined the team as Lâg Product Manager in the U.S. In their new roles, they will all play an integral part in Korg USA’s sales, marketing and product training efforts, as well as direct and supply market research for their respective brands. In addition, they will all maintain their brand’s presence online, at trade shows and in retail stores.
Molinare comes to Korg USA with over 15 years of M.I. experience in the guitar/amp products, effects and pro audio sectors. Most recently, he was U.S. Business Development Manager for Blackstar Amplification U.S., where he was instrumental in building the Blackstar brand and dealer network throughout the USA. Molinare will continue to maintain these dealer relationships and deliver feedback to the product development team in order to help continually bring market-driven products to retailers. He is also the singer and guitarist in the California-based bands The Dogs and Little Caesar.
Formidoni was previously a Korg product specialist and prior to that, held a sales position at Sam Ash Music in Queens, New York. His additional product management duties for the Korg brand will include working with Korg USA retail marketing staff to collaborate on sales incentives to support retail partner efforts, researching market trends to help deliver competitive products to market, working with the product voicing team, and creating demonstrations/training videos and other selling tools. On the weekend, he’s the keyboardist for New York City-based funk/rock/soul band Urban Sun.
Sajeva, who currently holds a position as Korg Product manager for dance, DJ and computer products, will now also focus on the Elements line of modular sound reinforcement products from HK Audio, a highly-respected brand in Europe. In addition to exclusive U.S. distribution, Korg USA will be marketing this brand in the U.S. Sajeva will play a pivotal role interfacing not only with U.S. sales and marketing teams, but also liaising with key HK Audio personnel and supporting dealer needs in the field. He is also an established multi-instrumentalist in several New York City-based club bands.
Piccolo comes to Korg USA with over 12 years of solid M.I. experience, having most recently worked for U.S. Music Corp. as District Sales Manager for the Northwest and, before that, Taylor Guitars DSM for the Mid West and Pacific Northwest Territory. Prior to that, he got his start in the industry working retail sales at Victor’s House of Music in Paramus, NJ.
